they can afford an extra point being
given to the other side.
The freshmen can hurl a challenge
to the seniors that it will be too bad
for the score if Imodean Hall ever
gets in the clear. The freshmen are
going to have some players that are
expected to be almost as fast as any-
thing that the seniors have, but they
admit that they haven’t got the
weight.
So far no one has been seriously
hurt in any of the practices on either
side except for the fact that some of
the girls get their faces dirty on the
football when they catch a pass. An-
other casualty was sustained when
Floy Nelson was struck in the face
by the ball and had her hair ruffled
up a bit, however, timeout was call-
ed so she could apply first aid.

Those fleet footed Coyotes, after
a successful defeat over Hardin-Sim-
mons Freshman against heavy odds,
tangle with the N. T. A. C. outfit
October 24th.
With the defeat of the Hardin
Simmons Frosh behind them, every-
one is wondering just what those
hard fighting Coyotes are going to
do next. Hardin Simmons was, of
course, a nought team and should
have made a better showing, but
their apparent success was due to
lucky “breaks” as the fans put.it
Their success was short lived but
they had the fans on the edges • of
their seats when Mobley ran 75
yards on the first play for a touch-
down.
The game with North Texas Agri-
cultural College, however, is a con-
ference game and promises to be a
real test of the Coyote strength
which has flared up in the past
games.
The N. T. A. C. game will be made
more difficult for the Coyotes by
the fact that the game is being play-
ed away from home, which is a dis-
tinct disadvantage. The Coyotes are
getting more and more confident
of thei rability by their recent suc-
cesses on the gridiron, but the game
with N. T. A. C. will be fought on
enemy territory and promises to be
a hard and rough game for the Coy-
otes.

The Thalian Football game
Tuesday night is being favored as
one of the best clashes in Weather-
ford College football history. The
girls are doing the playing so the
boys are supposed to take the girls’
places on the side lines by dressing
in girls costumes. In order to be
different from the. original boys and
to keep from being flattered, the
girls who remain on the sideline will
take the boy’s places by dressing as
boys. And, in order to make girls
ashamed of themselves when it
comes to being good-looking, all the
boys are expected to be dressed as
girls.
During the past few days of hard
grueling football practice, some of
the girls have shown that they will
make good football players when
they get on the field. If the seniors
can get enough girls together to

Johnson kicked the extra point to
tie the score at 13-13.
Later in the third quarter Cox
quick kicked for 50 yards. The H.-S.
U. tailback fumbled and Shipman re-
covered for the Coyotes on the Frosh
34 yard line from which point the
W. C. team drove to the goal with
Carter scoring from the two yard
stripe. Lloyd kicked the conversion
which later proved to be the decid-
ing point of the game. The con-
version was made with Cox holding
the ball, making the score 20-13 in
favor of the fighting Coyotes.
Immediately the Hardin-Simmon
Frosh began passing in an attempt
to again score on the hard hitting lo-
cal team and about the middle of
the fourth quarter, Johnson passed
to Mobley for six more points from
the Coyote 25 yard Iine The at-
tempt at conversion was no good and
the Hardin-Simmons team again
kicked to W. C. Carter received the
ball on the 10 yard line and stepped
off twenty yards before being
brought down.
, The future Cowboys threatened to
score again as the referee assessed a
penalty for pushing against the Coy-
otes and milled the pass complete.
On the next play the threat was end-
ed as Woolard intercepted a pass on
his 10 yard line and returned it to
the Coyote 45. A few plays later the
final whistle blew and many people
left the stands with the realization
that Weatherford College has an
outstanding team this year.
Outstanding on offense in the
Coyote backfield were Ishmael Ford
who did some excellent passing,
Wayne Laird who repeatedly gained
needed yardage through the line,
and Freddie Cox who has gotten off
many good quick kicks so far this
season. On defense were Robert Fain
Connie Jones, Dalton Criswell and
Darwin Shipman.
The Hardin-Simmons Freshmen
have some first rate players in Mob-
ley, Sellers, Johnson, Marmalejo,
Thorn and Burleson.
