The long-time-running
McDade Jamboree has
special guests in De-
cember with Minnie
and Ella Jordan of Cou-
pland and Lacy Jewell
of McDade performing.
The McDade Jam-
boree has just finished
14 years of old-fash-
ioned, good time coun-
try music. The first
show was Monday, Sept.
10, 2001 and they’ve
performed every sec-
ond Monday of the
month since then.
Members of the band
are Williard Rother on
guitar, Sandy Rother on
fiddle, Steve Johnson
on keyboard, David
Riffe on banjo and
Steve Friends on guitar
and mandolin. Each
month they feature
special guests on the
show.
The show began in the
McDade VFW at 1970
Hwy. 290, which has
now been converted to
the New Hope
Lutheran Church. For
years the show filled
the VFW and players
have come and gone
from the regular band,
but they are still there
every month keeping
old fiddle tunes and
vintage country songs
alive.
These days the band
