ter-in-law, Cheryl Stagner,
her grandson, Sterling Stag-
ner and granddaughters,
Shelby Stagner and Kayla
Valentine.
She is survived by her sis-
ter-in-law Nancy Tindel and
her brother-in-law Jerry Tin-
del and their children and
grandchildren.
Additionally, she leaves be-
hind her neighbors, Janie and
John Houston, Sue and Mark
Piwonka and Ronnie and
Mike Ericksen. She loved
them as family, and they con-
tinually helped her and Terry
when her health began to de-
cline. We are forever grateful
for their love and support.
Shirley had many friends in
Austin and Houston who will
miss her.
Shirley was a devoted
Christian wife, mother, and
two grandchildren, Bryan
and Stacy, and one great
grandchild, Dru.
Amelda will be remem-
bered for her love of cooking
for friends, cookie jars, trav-
els, yard sales, games with
friends, and an occasional
margarita.
She will be buried next
to Dimmitt in the Pleasant
Grove cemetery in a private
family service.
A memorial will be planned
for a later date.

Shirley Wilson Stagner
passed away from this life
on August 1, 2018.
As a lifelong member of the
Church of Christ, we rest in
the knowledge that she is free
from pain and her mind and
body are once again whole.
She is now resting in the
arms of our Lord Jesus.
Shirley was born on Oc-
tober 28, 1940, in Chan-
dler, Oklahoma, to Neal
and Agnes Wilson. She was
preceded in death by her
mother Agnes Wilson Oli-
ver, her stepfather Keith B.
Oliver and her father Neal
Wilson, who gave his life for
his country in World War II,
and her in-laws Kentric and
Jessie Lynn Stagner.
She is survived by her
husband of almost 60 years,
Terry Stagner, whom she met
at Abilene Christian Univer-
sity. They soon married on
June 6, 1959, in Elgin and
moved to Austin.
She is survived by her
brother, Jimmie Wilson,
whom she talked to on a
daily basis.
She is survived by her
daughter, Sheri Stagner
Mohle, and son-in-law Rusty
Mohle and grandsons, Travis
Mohle and Austin Mohle.
She is survived by her son,
Baby girl, Anna Sofia
Mendoza Gomez began

on Saturday, July 28,
2018.

mann passed away on July
25,2018.
To many in his family, he
was affectionately known as
“Pal”.
He was born on April 1,
1930 to Mathilda and Wil-
liam F. Wiedemann in the
Scott’s Community near
Flatonia.
Mr. Wiedemann served in
the US Army at the Reserve
Station at Camp Roberts,
California and also served
overseas in Hanau, Germany
with the 7743 Engineer Sup-
ply Control Office.
Mr. Wiedemann graduated
from Blinn Junior College
with an Associates Degree
in Business Administration.
He also attended Sam Hous-
ton State for one year.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing
and loved guns and pistols
as a young man. He was a
farmer and rancher at heart
and spent almost 30 years
in the grocery business in

to Elgin after retirement to
enjoy farming and garden-
ing. He was a member of the
Elgin Garden Club for many
years and also the Rose Soci-
ety. He was also an ordained

Manor, passed away at
his home, surrounded
by his loving family,
on Saturday evening,
August 4, 2018. He is
survived by his wife,
Ana.
The family received
guests at the Elgin Fu-
neral Home on Monday,
Aug. 6 from 6-8 p.m.
with a vigil for the Holy
Rosary at 7 p.m.
A funeral service was
conducted at the Elgin
Funeral Home on Tues-
day, Aug. 7 at 10 a.m.
Interment followed at
the Manor Cemetery.

Mr. Wiedemann was pre-
ceded in death by his father
William F. Wiedemann, his
mother Mathilda Wiede-
mann, and two older broth-
ers, William C. Wiedemann,
and James H. Wiedemann.
He is survived by his wife,
Jan Wiedemann and nieces
Marcella Woods, Cindy
Aguilar, Sheila Foster, Jen-
nifer Ochoa and Andrea
Schellberg.
Mr. Wiedemann was laid to
rest privately in the Young’s
Prairie Cemetery.

grandmother. She was a stay
at home mom who was al-
ways there for her children
and grandchildren, cele-
brating their achievements
although her health kept
her from attending many of
those milestone events. Her
love of flowers led to her
beautiful yards and flower
arrangements to adorn their
home. She was a member
and officer of the Lakewood
Forest Garden Club for many
years.
Shirley wasn’t a native
Austinite, but loved Austin
with a passion. She never
stopped thinking of it as her
home and would have loved
to moved back to see the roll-
ing hills and be a part of the
city she moved from 30 years
ago.
Her Celebration of Life was
Monday, August 6, 2018 in
Elgin at Providence-Jones
Family Funeral Home. The
viewing was held in the
morning with the service fol-
lowing. Interment followed
at the McDade Cemetery.

Viola “Amelda” White
passed away July 27, 2018
under the loving care of Kin-
dred Hospice and Celeste-
Care at Horseshoe Bay.
Amelda was born on June
15, 1927 to Oscar and Emma
Johnson in Elgin, Texas. She
spent most of her 91 years
there and retired from Texas
Parks and Wildlife in August
1990.
She was proceeded in
death by her parents and
half-brother, Edward Lane;
her husband; Dimmitt
White, and grandson Quin-
ton White.
Amelda is survived by her
AVERY KOI graduated valedictorian from
Bastrop High School in June, 2018. She plans to
attend the University of Texas at Austin double-
majoring in Human Biology and Psychology.
Avery is the daughter of Nathan Koi and Jacki
King of Bastrop.
ASHLEY SVETLIK graduated salutatorian
from Cedar Creek High School in June, 2018.
She plans to attend Texas Tech University and
pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Ashley is the daughter of Charles and Jennifer
Svetlik of Cedar Creek.
