vey today showed 19 direct fatali-
ties and 18 indirect.
The figures were made public
in a report by Dr. Floyd R. East-
wood of Los Angeles State Col-
lege, chairman of the American
Fatalities Survey Commission.
Last year at mid-season, 15
fatalities were reported—12 direct
and 3 indirect.
The total of indirect fatalities
among high school players rose
from one to 12 and Dr. Eastwood
said this was cause for serious

Dale Borgstedte, a sophomore,

tion. cracked a bone in his knee
and sprained an ankle in Tuesday’s
