Nell, the section house has been moved
from here. Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Mun-
dine bought it and moved it to Lexington,
to be made into a home.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Strong and son, John
Arthur, and Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Ernst and
Mary Jane Mundine attended the wedding
of Earl Haverland of McDade to Peggy
Weaver of Smithville, Saturday evening at
the Baptist church at Smithville. John
Arthur was best man in the wedding.

News From The McDade Community

Well, we received more than 3 inches
of rain over the week-end.
Mr. and Mrs. Pal Guthrie and twins of
Austin visited Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Stagner
Saturday.
Clyde Lowrey, who is in the U. S. Navy,
is home visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs..
W. C. Lowrey.
Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Mullins and Robert
are visiting relatives in Mission for a few
days.
Mrs. Zuma Curtis and daughter and'Miss
Blanche Freeman of Houston, spent the
week-end with James Freeman and other
relatives. Miss Blanche didn’t go back,
she will stay with Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Free-
man for a while.
Several families from here attended the
wedding of JaNell Gross and David Kast-
ner Saturday night in Austin. JaNell is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.' Walter
■Gross of Austin, and David is the son of
Mr. and. Mrs. Cecil Kastner of Austin.
Among those who went were the Albert
Rother family, several of the Kastner
families, Mrs. A. DeGlandon and several
others.
T. Sgt. and Mrs. V. P. Dunbar and two.
children of Panama City, Florida, visited
Mr. and Mrs. A. Y. Field and other rela-
tives Friday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Owen spent Thurs-
day in Temple.
Mrs. G. T. Dungan were Monday visitors
in Austin.

Members of the senior class, the class
sponsor, and Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Kuem-
pel are in Mexico for the senior trip.
Baccalaureate services for the senior
class were held Sunday at Immanuel Luth-
eran. Rev. Kurt Hartmann gave the ad- •
dress -on "'Absolute Necessities”. The
Girls Choir rendered the following selec-
tions: (Praise Ye the Father”' and "'My
God and I”. •
Immanuel Lutheran Sunday School
teachers met Monday night for their reg-
ular session at the Parish Hall. A new g
course "The Life of Christ” was started.
Anyone interested in this course is wel-
come to attend.
Saturday, May 25th pre-confirmation in- 0 •
struction will begin at 8:30 a.m. for the
class which will be confirmed next spring. ,

Mr. and Mrs. Max Kuempel have an-
nounced the engagement and approaching
marriage of their daughter, Patricia, to
Herbert Wolff, Jr. on August 10th at Im-
manuel Lutheran in Pflugerville.
The bride-elect is a student at the Uni-
versity of Texas. She wiH graduate in
June with a bachelor of science degree in
elementary education.
Her fiance is also a student at the Uni-
versity. Heis a sophomore and is major-
ing in geology. His parents are Mr. and
Mrs. Herbert Wolff, Sr. of Three Point.
High School Commencement exercises
will be held on the football field Thursday
night at 8 P.M.
