making from 29 to 80 bushels to
the acre. The forage crop is just
fine. The grain crop also.
Gathering broom corn, threshing
and canning fruit seems to be the
order of the day.
The crops here show that the
drouth and hot winds that prevailed
over a great portion of the state
was not felt here.
The fruit and vegetables are good
as can be. There will be vegetables
and roasting ears until frost. I am
feasting just now on the big water-
melons. Some of them are so large
you can see but one side at a time,
then you have to walk around or
climb over to see the other. To
make a long story short I will just
say there is an all around good crop
of everything.
