untimely death, and commend

them.

PREPARE FOR NEXT YEAR
(WOLIAD is not to have a bonded warehouse for the present. Mr.
I V Guyler, who was to have taken over the management, seems
to think it would not pay, and has given it up. Although it
is necessary to have your cotton properly stored, classed, and
’ insured in order,to participate in the 6 per cent loans from the
$100,000,000.00 cotton pool, yet most of the cotton now coming in
is of such inferior grade that only a very email loan per bale could
be obtained. Low middling cotton would probably carry a loan
of 4 cents a pound, and in addition to 6 per cent interest, you
would have to pay in to the pool another 3 cents to be held by
them to pay their expenses and to guarantee them against loss.
Any of this 3 per cent not used would be returned to you when
your loan is paid.
For the past several months we have been offering to our cus-
tomers a means of obtaining loans on their cotton which we believe
is equally, if not more, attractive than the one mentioned - above.
We have shipped over 1200 bales for our farmer friends, in lots
varing from 1 to 25 bales, and have obtained $15.00 and $20.00 per
bale for them, depending on the grade.
If you owe us or your merchant, why not let us obtain a loan
for you, so that you can pay off your present indebtedness. This
will place you in a position to ask help to make another crop, ana
you will still have your cotton. If you are going to hold your cot-
ton, we believe it is to your interest to hold it in Houston or some
other market center, whether you borrow money on it or not.* You
can then take advantage of any rise in the price and sell to the
best advantage. We will be glad to attend to all the details for
you, and we will make no charge for our services. Call on us if
we can serve you.

Mrs. W. E. Neyland
After several months of suffer-
ing that could be only temporar-
ily relieved, Mrs. W. E. Neyland
was called in death last Friday
morning and was laid to rest
Saturday. In Mrs. ‘ Neyland’s
death Goliad loses a woman
whose memory will always be
cherished and whose influence
will never die. In her work for
her town and its people she was
perfect and always stood ready
and willing to aid those in need.
She guided the destinies of the
Mothers’ Club for a long time
and that worthy body was won-
derfully advanced under her
able leadership.
A mother of the kind sent di-
rect from God she shaped the
lives of five children and her
work in this line was all that
could be desired. A life well
lived and an influence for good
