Summer Vegetables Profitable
In spite of the heavy rains in
June ruining the garden just as
the vegetables were beginning to
bear, it did not discourage Rescie
Morgan, garden demonstrator of
the Hungerford club, enough to
cause ’her to quit gardening.
As soon as the soil was in good
condition again, 651 feet of Hen-
derson Bush beans, 186 feet of
cream peas and 93 feet of okra
were planted. These vegetables
are now bearing and are taking
the place, both fresh and canned,
of the green vegetables destroyed
in the spring garden.
