Texas Governor Ann Richards recently tried her hand at quilting on the 20th Anniversary Quilt of
the University of Houston Clear Lake, designed by Judy Cloninger. The quilt will be displayed in
Houston, Nov. 3-6, during the International Quilt Festival at the George R. Brown Convention
Center in "Quilts..A World of Beauty, the annual judged show of the American International Quilt
Association. Admission to the International Quilt Festival is $7 daily, $4 seniors. For information,
call 781-6864. The UHCL project coordinator was Joyce Goerke, wife of UHCL president Dr. Glenn
