Hogs should be checked often
to see if mange or lice are pre-
sent. If they are present, hogs
should be sprayed with banzine
herochloride, commonly called
BHC, lindone, which contains the
same killing agent as BHC, at the
same time is a little better pro-
duct, and toxaphene may also be
used. According to recent tests
lindone does the best Job of getting
rid of mange.
These three insecticides may be
bought at drug stores, feed stores,
veterinarians, and other places.
Do not spray livestock on an
extremely cold day or when a
cold spell is expected within a
short time.

TO ALL RESIDENT QUALIFIED VOTERS OF
LEE. FAYETTE COUNTIES CUMMINS CREEK .
WATER CONTROL AND IMPROVEMENT
DISTRICT NUMBER ONE:
NOTICE of an election to be held on the Sth day of January, 1957,
within the LEE, FAYETTE COUNTIES, CUMMINS CREEK WATER
CONTROL AND IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NUMBER ONE, for the
election of five Directors for said District, is hereby given as follows:
“A RESOLUTION AND ORDER by the Board of Directors of
Lee, Fayette Counties, Cummins Creek Water Control and
Improvement District No. 1, calling an election on January 8,
1957, for the purpose of electing five directors for said District.”
WHEREAS, it is necessary under applicable law that there be
held a general election in the District on January 8, 1957, for the pur-
pose of electing five directors for said District, the aforesaid date be-
ing the second Tuesday in January; therefore
BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED BY THE BOARD OF DI-
RECTORS OF LEE. FAYETTE COUNTIES. CUMMINS CREEK
WATER CONTROL AND IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NUMBER ONE:
SECTION 1: That an election shall be and same is hereby order-
ed to be held on the 8th day of January, 1957, in Lee, Fayette Counties,
Cummins Creek Water Control and Improvement District Number One,
for the purpose of electing five directors for said district.
SECTION 2: That said election shall be held and conducted in
accordance with the laws of this State for holding general elections for
State and County officers except as herein otherwise provided. All
persons who are resident qualified electors of the District shall be en-
titled to vote. - *
SECTION 3: That the ballots for said election shall be prepared
in sufficient number and in conformity with Chapter 6 V. A. T. S. Elec-
tion Code, and that written or printed on such ballots shall appear the
following:

(The five persons receiving the greatest number of votes shall
be declared elected)

As to the above there are five directors to be elected, if any of
those named above are not desired, strike name and write in another

est number of votes shall serve for a period of two years, and the other
two shall serve for a period of one year.
° SECTION 4: To be eligible for the office of Director a person
must be a resident of the State, own land subject to taxation in the
district, and be more than twenty-one years of age.
SECTION 5: The polling places and election officers for said

five (5) days, one copy to be retained by the Presiding Judge, one copy
to be delivered to the President of the Board, and one copy to be de-
livered to the Secretary of the Board of Directors. The ballot boxes and
other election records and supplies shall be delivered to the Secretary
of the District at his office and preserved in said office as provided by

SECTION 6: The Secretary of the Board of Directors shall give
notice of the election herein ordered by publishing a true copy hereof,
signed by the President and attested by the Secretary in a newspaper
published in each of the aforementioned counties, and of general circu-
lation within the area of the District, once each week for three con-
secutive weeks, the first publication to appear at least twenty-one (21) .
days prior to the date of said election, and not more than thirty-five
(35) days prior thereto.

EGG MARKETING bill is to be

For several years there has
been much discussion about the
need for some kind of egg legis-
lation in Texas. Texas is one of
the few states having no egg mar-
keting law,
This discussion has been entered
into by individuals in all sements
of the egg industry. Some have
been wholeheartedly in favor of
have been favorable but not active-
cupy shortly.
Deer Comes Avisiting
A deer came visiting in the
back yard of the home of Mrs.
C. A. Paulick on Pin Oak Thu-
day and butted a wet mop hang-
ing near her back door on a china-
berry tree from there it ventured

A 3′4 inch deluge of rain with
high wind ana hail hit our com-
munity Tuesday, Dec. 18. between
10 and 11 p. m. doing some dam-
age at the Herm. Tschatschulas
where it unroofed a cow shed.
At Richard Noacks it lifted a hen
house with chickens off its founda-
tion. At the H. P. Weisers it blew
down a lean to shed. At the Gerh.
Menzels it tore metal roofing off
several buildings. At Ed. Schulz
it took off metal roofs from the
barn and several out houses. The
wind also blew down a few
trees here and there. Hail, too, was
more severe at the Ed. Schulzes,
| is concerned, and still others
have been opposed to any kind of
egg legilation.
In the past few months repres-
