FISK STUDENT RETURNS HOME
Ashton Olivier has returned home
from Fisk University to spend the
summer with his mother and father.
While at Fisk this year, Ashton made
the debating team and was elected to
membership in the Phi Beta Sigma
fraternity, member of the Wranglers
Club, the Men’s Senate and comic edi-
tor of the Fisk Herald.
P.V. JUNIOR LEAVES FOR HOME
James L. Johnson, a student at
Prairie View College and a talented
musician, left Saturday for his home
in Dennison, after spending two weeks
in the city as the house guest of Al-
vin Lionel Grovey, 3337 Bremond. He
was also a visitor at the home of Miss
Exa Hardin, 1402 Buckner. Both Mr.
Grovey and Miss Hardin are juniors
at Prairie View and classmates of Mr.
Johnson. .
MR. BLAKE HONORED
Thomas Taft Blake, who has return-
grand lodge, which proved that all of
the male specie either had the gout
or were suffering from old age and
“Depressionitis,” they sadly came
back tired and discouraged to put on
the war paint for the Medicos, only
to find that they all had taken unto
themselves a wife in the dark dim
past who was present at the shining
association. In fact, one lady who'll
pass in anybody's rush told us with
tears streaming down her cheeks that
she didn’t even get one bid for a dance
at the ball.
By the way, gang, we aren’t going
to tell where you went after the Medi-
co dance. So, don’t soft soap us! But,
don’t carry little Joe Lyons like that.
The Omegas picnic was a wow. And
don’t forget that the way Bill Moore
hung on to the old ice cream bucket
was a dog. His death grip showed
that it was a matter of life and death.
Do, BU1!
Don’t forget that it was the said
Mr. Moore who insisted that the Ew-
ings’ bathroom shower be given close
to Saturday night as possible. Looks
like a dirty dig to us.
We can’t help wondering when the
Lola Ann Beauty Shop thinks when
it looks across the street and sees the
young pharmacist entertaining John-
son’s Barber Shop.
Apropos of nothing, we wonder why
Dr. John Davis doesn’t go to the "Y”
so often now.
Speaking of the “Y” Mr. Sherman
Watkins doesn’t seem to mind his in-
strument just so he plays in the band.
Mine Edith Parker, general secre-
tory of the central association is leav-
ing the city Wednesday for her vnrn-
tion.
The Ministerial Alliance met at the
camp last Wednesday. They showed
their interest in the success of the
camp by pledging themselves to work
up Giri Reserve groups to go to camp.
The Woman’s Auxiliary of the
Medical Association held a reception
for the visitors at the “Y” center.
Many out of town visitors enjoyed the
hospitality extended them.
