and winter than in early summer.
A good mineral mixture for cattle,
usually recommended, consists of
1-3 spent bone black or bone meal,
1-3 ground oyster shell or fine
ground limestone, and 1-3 salt. Such
mixtures may be fed free choice in
well sheltered boxes or in self
feeders where rain cannot get into
the mixture or may be mixed with
other foods at the rete of from 1 to
2 ounces, per mature animal, per
