Eagle Band Receives I and II Ratings
Goldthwaite’s Golden Eagle Band participated in the University Interscholastic League
Concert and Sight Reading competition at Glen Rose on Wednesday, April 12. The band
received a Division I (Superior) rating in concert and a Division H (Excellent) in Sightreading.
This is the first year the band has received a Superior rating in UIL competition since 1989.
Band members who participated in the contest were Merry Abraham, Terry Abraham,
Nazario Aguirre, Jeanie Allenbrand, J. T. Auldridge, Elizabeth Beckemeyer, Barbara Boese,
Alan De la Cruz, Liz Donnelly, Mark Dowell, Brandi Garrison, Rachel Griffin, Melinda

Prayer, the First Baptist Church of Goldth-
waite is hosting a Prayer Service, Thursday,
May 4 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of FBC.
"This will be a time set aside for scripture
reading and prayer for our country and our
leaders on all levels of government," Doug
Holtzclaw, pastor of the church said.
'The Chapel will be open from 8:00 a.m. until
after the service for members and friends to
come in and spend time in prayer for our land,"
he added.
