aid the poor.
Although all this spending
did little to do away with the
poor, the welfare rolls have
increased to the point that the
entire nation is threatened with
bankruptcy. . . ,
What’s the solution to man s
problems? Americans nor any
other nation in the world is
finding the solution.
Not only is mankind busily
destroying the framework of
all society -- the family - but
it is destroying the earth’s
environment — air, food and
water -- the three things needed
to sustain human life.
God’s Word has the only ans-
wer to the problems mankind
will be facing in 1972 and in the
immediate future.
It can be summed up in one
simple word -- love!
“What the world needs now is
love, sweet love'' are the open-
ing words to a popular song.
And how true this is!
If the people of this world
had their minds filled with the
love of God instead of racial

prejudice, hate, selfishness,
greed, envy, lust, vanity and
pride, the world could find the
solution to its major problems.
Unfortunately, the world has
never looked to the source of
all true knowledge, the Bible.
So it gropes in darkness, al-
ways thinking that tomorrow
some smart and educated
scientists and politicians will
save mankind, fust in the nick
of time.
Listen to this prediction of
the Bible for the end-time. It
might be talking about 1972:
"It is going to be very diffi-
cult to be a Christian. For peo-
ple will love only themsleves
and their money; they will be
proud and boastful, sneering at
God, disobedient to their par-
ents, ungrateful to them, and
thoroughly bad. They will be
hardheaded and never give in
to others; they will be con-
stant liars and troublemakers
and will think nothing of mor-
ality. They will be rough and
cruel, and sneer at those who
try to be good. They will betray
their friends; they will be hot-
headed, puffed up with pride,
and prefer good times to wor-
shipping God. They will have

Rabbs Creek Philosopher/
RABBS CREEK PHILOSOPHER
SEES NO REASON TO DOUBT
THE SURVIVAL OF BOTH
MAN AND ALLIGATOR IN ’72
Editor’s note: The Rabbs
Creek Philosopher on his John-
son grass farm has discovered
a new year is at hand, his
letter this week indicates.
Dear editar:
It’s that time of year again
to look back over the past twelve
months and ahead to the next
twelve.
Personally, I’m aboutas good
at telling what’s going to happen
as what did, like a state leg-
islature waiting for the courts
to tell it what the laws it just
passed meant, and my predic-
a form of godlines, but deny
of it” (II Tim. 3:1-5
the power ~- - --A -
— The Living Bible Para-
phrased). ...
All these things prophesied
are the opposite of LOVE. They
are Satan the devil’s way, not
God’s way. They are the way
this world is presently heading,
despite a more sophisticated
and educated world which sup-
posedly doesn’t want or need
God. .
In 1972 you will be living in
a world which doesn’t know
the true meaning of the word
love. But without love in our
heart, mankind has absolutely
nothing. , j
The Bible aptly describes it
in I Corinthians 13:1-7:
“If I speak in the tongues of
men and of angels, but have
not love, 1 am a noisy gong or
a clanging cymbal. And if I have
prophetic powers, and under-
stand all mysteries and all
knowledge, and if I have all
faith, so as to remove moun-
tains, but have not love 1 am
nothing. If I give away all I
have, and if I deliver my body
to be burned, but have not love,
I gain nothing.
“Love is patient and kind;
love is not jealous or boastful;
it is not arrogant or rude.
Love does not insist on its own
way; it is not irritable or re-
sentful; it does not rejoice at
wrong, but rejoices in the right.
Love bears all things, believes
all things, hopes all things, en-
dures all things. Love never
ends.” _

tion for 1972 is that most pre-
dictions will be about as re-
liable as the one made in 1910,
by the man who said that when
automobiles replace horses and
buggies most flies will be eli-
minated.
Or the college professors
in Italy who predicted Colum-
bus would sail off the end of
the earth.
Or any President in the last
25 years who predicted a ba-
lanced budget.
I know there are a lot of
gloomy predictions for 1972 and
the years ahead, one of which
is that man will go up in smoke
when a hydrogen bomb war
breaks out or he’ll sufficate
in pollution, taking all living
things with him.
I doubt this. I predict both
man and alligator will be a-
round for a long time to come,
and that goes for flies and
mosquitoes as well as China
and Russia and the United States
and all the continents and the
seven seas with Giddings thrown
in for good measure.
I have utmost confidence in
the survival of man as long
as he remembers the fundamen-
tal lesson of life: just keep
dodging and don’t look back.
Yours faithfully,
J. A.
