On Sept 29. 2007 at 9:32 p.m.
Corporal Sterling Taylor. Chief
Nathan Lapham, and Sergeant
Anthony Ramirez received a call
from dispatch in reference to a
family disturbance on S. Caldwell.
Upon arrival, Taylor met with two
Hispanic male subjects behind the
residence that appeared to be
leaving. While speaking with the
two male subjects, Taylor later
learned that they were unrelated
to the call, so they were released.
Chief Lapham called Taylor over
the radio to assist him with a
Hispanic male subject, later
identified as Guadalupe Herrera-
Gonzalez, that was inside the
residence and had a Hispanic
female subject pinned against the
bathroom door. Chief Lapham
pushed the door open and
Gonzalez-Herrera began resisting
Lapham's request to come inside
the living room area to talk.
Ramirez and Lapham spoke with
victim, Maria Herrera, inside the
living room area with her son who
translated in English what
happened.
Maria Herrera stated that her
husband broke the kitchen
window attempting to get inside
the residence. Herrera stated she
answered the door and Herrera-
Gonzalez pushed her in the
restroom where she laid on the
bathroom floor because she was
having a panic attack due to the
potential of more physical abuse
and the intoxication level of
Herrera-Gonzalez. He was placed
