was the guest over Sunday of Dr. and
Mrs. M. E. Hudson of the First Bap-

Mrs. A. J. Long of Princeton was
here Monday morning to meet her

Mr. and Mrs. J. w. Randle of
Wylie were McKinney visitors Satur-
day. They motored up to McKinney.
Mr. Handle is the able editor of the
Wylie Herald, one of the best weeklies
In the county. Mrs. Randle is a daugh-
ter of our life-time friends, Ham P.
Howery, deceased, for a third of a
century one of the county’s ablest and
most efficient peace officers. They
called In to see us. We were greatly
pleased at Mr. and Mrs. Randle's visit.
Sewing Lessons For
Lovejoy Women
County Home Demonstrator Mrs.
Viola P. McGee states that the Singer
Sewing Machine Company is sending
a woman from Dallas Monday to
demonstrate to the Lovejoy Home
Demonstration club the sewing excel-
lence of this particular make of ma-
chine and to give the women some
valuable lessons in the sewing art
generally. The machine to be used
will be furnished by the local Singer
agency. Members of other clubs near
to Lovejoy have also been invited
witness the demonstration.

Sunday night at the First Baptist
Church, Miss Zula Sibley, Instructor
of voice In the South western Bap-
tist Theological Seminary at Fort
Worth, gave a special solo and also
gave a special solo number at. the
morning hour. She came on special
invitation of the pastor. Dr. Marion
E. Hudson. She was choir director in
a former pastorate of his. She pos-
sesses a very rare voice and her solos
were greatly enjoyed.
Another feature at the evening
hour in addition to the fine orchestra
program was a violin duet by Miss
Tuanita Massie and Rupert M. Crabb.
"The Holy City” was the feature
orchestra number. The crowd at
he evening hour was the largest in
many weeks.
Dr.Hudson delivered two mastormi
messages, receiving at both services
in attentive hearing from large con-
gregations.

A fire alarm was turned in Mon-
day morning on account of stove-
pipe becoming unjointed and the wall
paper catching fire in a house occu-
pied by Mrs. Steele, east of the depot.
The fire department made the usual
