THE BEST CHRISTMAS BOOK
The re is no book that measures up to the Bank Book as
a Christmas Gift. You can give it to the family or any
member of the family with the feeling that you could net
have selected a more satisfying, a more worthy gift.
It is a book that may be read from day to day with add-
ed pleasure as the balance grows and the recipient will
be taught the value of saving as the means of acquiring
something worth while.

DON’T FORGET
Think back and compare the funer-
al service rendered in Collin County
four years ago—with the C. C. Har-
ris beautiful method. Also remem-
ber:—Harris established such service
here. Then ask your self this ques-
tion:—Is Harris worthy of my con-
fidence in in case I should need an
Undertaker's service in my home?

Oh, how would you like to be the
ice man today? No.
The gas, coal and wood man is the
most sought today.
Very little out-door work today, on
account of the extreme cold weather.
The street force of the city could
not go out to work today.
The first snow of the year par-
tially covered mother earth today.
Many automobiles, including “Liz-
zies," failed to start today, on ac-
count of the extreme cold weather.
This has been an extremely hard
day on mail, newspaper carriers and
grocery delivery boys.
Carpenters, painters and out-door
laborers, on account of the cold
weather, are knocked out of work
today.
The City Commission was called
upon early today for some wood, for
a poor old negro woman nearly 100
years old, who was nearly freezing.
The wood was furnished.
The Elks will entertain with a

direction.
In the fall of 1923 Chevrolet began
making their own drop forgings, such
as front axles, steering gears, connect-
ing rods, spring hangers, motor sup-
ports as well as various other parts.
In addition the company has redue-
ed the amount of malleable parts that
go into the Chevrolet from 140 pounds
to 60 pounds, replacing these parts
with drop forgings and stampings,
which are sturdier and more reliable.
All these drop forgings and stampings
are made in the Chevrolet factories.
During the last year, this company
has likewise taken over the making
of all fenders and sheet metal parts
such as side aprons, radiator splash
guarda and hoods -
This policy of the Chevrolet Motor
Company has made it possible for
them to put additional quality into the
car. +

PHOTOSTAT MACHINE TO
PRESERVE DOCUMENTS
Austin, Texas, Dec. 18.—In an ef-
fort to preserve historical manu-
scripts, the University of Texas L.1-
brary has installed a photostat ma-
chine to furnish exact reproductions
of historical transcripts. This m1-
chine is used to photograph the
documents in such a clear and pre-
cise manner that study can be made
of the copy, and the original man-
script may be preserved for future
generations. The University Library
is now one of the best equipped li-
braries in the entire South. Within
the files of the library are many
papers of great value, pertaining to
both State and University history.
That these papers will be preserved
is now insured by the installation of
the new photostat machine.
