noon the general sank to unconsciousness.

Ufe was slowly ebbing away that death
was only a question of honra at the most.
Fainter and fainter grew the pulse. At S
o'clock physicians could discern only one
heart beat each ten seconds.

many years a very close friend and adviser
or Oeneral Huerta announced to waiting
newspaper men that the general had Just
died. There was a break In Oeneral Bravo's
voice as be told or the. passing of his
rriend and be sat limply down In a chair
overcome by the fatigue or the many hours
that he had watched at the bedside.
Oeneral Huerta had been HI lor nearly
six months bis Illness Drat becoming
marked soon after his Incarceration as a
rederal prisoner tn Fort Bliss last July.
Attending physicians attributed death to
a complication or liver complaints which
caused a general physical breakdown. The
general's condition rirst became alarming
last rail and he was transferred from Fort
Bliss to his home In El Paso. Apparently
in an Improved condition after a stay-at
home Oeneral Huerta was again removed
to the fort. Shortly after Christmas physi-
cians recommended Immediate removal
I rom the army poat to a hospital or to the
general's home. Federal guards were with-
drawn and a $15000 bond asked by the
government lor the appearance or Oeneral
Huerta at the proper time waa waived.
Oeneral Huerta was removed once again
to his home. From that time on his de-
cline was rapid. Dr. M. P. Schuster chief
of attending physicians and his assistants
did everything that medical skill could
suggest in order to prolong lire but with-
out avail.
Family at Bedside.
Present when death came to oeneral Hu-
erta last night were his wire Mrs. Emilia
Agullade Huerta three sons Jorge Vic-
tor and Dagoberto; three married daugh-
ters Mrs. Elisa H. de Calom. Mrs. Lux H.
de Fuentes Mrs- Klen H. de yulrox and
two younger daughters Eva aged 11 and
Celia aged 10; three sisters. Mrs. Ursula
V. de nobles. Miss Ramona Huerta Miss
Teresa Huerta; two nephews. Victoriano
nobles and Pedro nobles and two sons-in-law
Luis Fuentes and Francisco Colom.
In addition to Dr. M. P. Schuster chief or
the attending physicians there were a

duced from toe riles. The telegram was
sent at the time American marines were
landed at Vera :rux and contained instruc-
tion to itravo to protect the Uvea and

The telegram was worded as rollows:

hua In 1844. he entered the military acade-

tion In 1878 when he was commissioned
second lieutenant .or engineers. During bis

dilection ror scientific studies particular-
ly astronomy and mathematics.
When Porfirio Diaz began hla reorgani-
sation of the Mexican army Huerta waa nro-
moted captain of engineers and while hold
