I to the columns of Th« Standard. The on-
ly publio Journal published in the Red Rivor re-
gion, of Twu, it haa almost an exolusive circula-
tion jn the Couuties of Bowie, Titus, Hopkins,
r, Lamar, Fanntu, Grayson, Cooke, Den-
Hunt, and Dallas, besides a scattering
, in contiguous Counties. Itsentire cir
i is larger than that of any other Journal
Jtate, east of the Trinity River; and it is
: only equalled by that of one other Jour-
nal within the State; and it is steadily inoroasing.
Those, who may, for any objoct, wish to arrest the
observation of the oituens of one of the most
densely settled seasons of the 8tate, the pro-
duots of which, are ra the east, and along the Rod
River border Cotton,of which it makos large crops;
in the westerly, and southern portions, whcat.com
and Beef, would do well to avail themsolvoa of our
columns. We make no effort, by personal solici-
tation in the commercial Cities, to obtain a large
array of business unrds, but wo can give a circula-
tion to them, in the Northern section of Texas,
which no other publio Journal can, by a differ-
ence of ten to one. We hove travelled leisurely
overtho Distriot, and know the circulation of all o-
ther Journals within it. Lognl gentlemen in the
several county Tuwns, would ao well to avail
themsolves of our columns, as a directory to per-
sons abroad, who may havo business at thnir sev-
eral localities.

HAVE just recoivoil from Now York and Phil-
adelphia the larecNt unci best (selected stock
of FALL AND WINTER GOODS—thov have
ever had the pleasure to offer lor sulo in Northern
Texas. Their stocks havo boon selected exclusive-
ly for tho Texas Trade, and bought at the very
lowest market prico from tho Manufacturers, and
from first hands in New York nnd Philadelphia,
and aro now offered to the people of Texas on
decidedly bettor terms than Goods havo over boon
offered in this part of tho country. They do not
protend to say that thoy are daily receiving goods
or that they purchaso in all tho eastern markots or
New Oleans. But they do pretend to say that
thoy can afford to sell as low as any houso in this
section of tho State. All they ask is that pur-
chasers will call atthoirStoros either inOlarksville
Paris or Bonham, and they will find better stocks
and bettor goods, and at lower priccs than thoy
havo over paid in Texas.
Clarksville, Nov. 20, 1852.
A TOW EDITION 07 MABTIH'S REPORTS.
The undcrsignod has now in proas a now edition of
MARTIN'S REPORTS, including tho new sc-
ries, with notes of roferonco to subsequent de-
cisions of the Supromo Court,up to the Seventh
Volume of the ANNUAL REPORTS; references
to the Amendments, to the Constitution,Statutes
and Oivil Code and Code ef Practice, sinco those
docisions were rendered. Compilod by Thom-
as Glbbos Morgan, Esq., Counsellor at Law.
This work has beon got up with groat luhor nnd ro
search and it is hopod will ho found to merit tho
patronage, of the profession. No alterations, of
the original have boon made, except to corroct
typographical errors; and, in some instances,
by adding marginal notes of points decided but
not noticed by tho reporter.
The high character of tho Court during tho time
embraced la those Volumes; the groat uumbcr of
cases involving the most important principles of
the civil law, as it obtained prior to tho acquisi-
tion of Louisiana, and subsequently, which aro
passed upon;tho learned and able briefs of the
eminent counsol then at tho bar, renders this
work of the greatest importanoo, iu all those
States and Territories formerly under thejuris'
diction of Spain; while, at tho same time, the
notos afford *roadp*e£tronoe to the subsequent
adjudications of tho Supremo Court of this
State.
The original twenty volumes, comprising all tho oa-
ses of the Supreme court of Louisiana, from 1800
tol830,will be published in TEN VOLUMES prico
to subscribers Five Dollars por voluino, and to
non-subscribers Six Dollars per volume—cash
in ai casos. Neither oxpenso, nor labor
will bo spared, to make tho work in every
respect worthy of tho patronago of the pro-
fession. It will be published complete and
ready for delivery in this city, by the first of
January next, until which dato subscriptions
will bo recoived.
It is tho intoutlon of tho publisher to follow it up
with anew oditionofthe LOUISIANA REPORTS,
noted in tho samo manner; and also to publish
new editions of tho CIVIL CODE and CODE
OP PRACTICE; In tho latter works it 1b pro-
posed to publish the original text entire; fol-
low each articlo with the statutory amendments
entire, and the decisions of the Supremo Court
upon each, by reference to the volumo and
page.
Such works wiil require great labor and care; and
as they will bo executed under tho Immediate au
perintondenoe of tho annotator of Martin's Ro
ports, I think they can be safely commended to the
especial attention of tho profession. Somo pro-
gress has already been made in theso works, and
they will be published as speedily as may be
eompatible with tho utmost accuracy.
