At a recent wedding breakfast in Liverpool

A highly important case in therapeutics and
surgical practice, is now occupying the faculty
of Paris. The eminent music inventor, Sax
[of the Saxhorn] has been long a sufferer from
cancer, and the leading physicians there. Val-
peau and Ricord who were in attendance, pro-
nounced him incurable. A practitioucr late-
ly arrived from India and the Dutch ;settle-
ments in the Spice islands, Dr. Vries has
brought home a plant he calls anti canceruse.
It has been applied now for four months, and
seems to have completely arrested the phage-
denic process. If Vries succeeds,-a new (bene-
factor to humanity of the Jfenner class, has
arisen.
