The Qraefenburg Vegetable
There seems to have been a total misapplication
of the word purge in bong always applied to the
one evacuation; in like manner, all the pills are
purgative componnds heretofore invented, have
had pole reference to the alvine discharges. But
the feme signification of the word, used physiolo-
gically, is to cleanse the blood. According to the
Americo Graefenberg theory, (see page 26 and
also 45,) the bowels form but one of the great out-
Jets of the body; and when the blood is, so to
speak, filtered by them, only one species of mor-
bid matter is removed, and the work of cleaning
is bat partially done, because the kidneys draw off
another distinct species of waste matter, and the
akin exhales still another in the form of Tapor-
whereby also the surplus heat of the body is dis-
sipated. Now, be it Always remembered, that the
bowels cannot ds the work of the kidneys, and
skfe^iioreaii th*flatter perform the office of th«
fospter. If, however, the urine is started, and the
pen* opened, by a violent cathartic, it is aafy
done by sympathetic irritation; and to do this, too

great superiority of the Graefenberg Vegetable
Pills over all others, that they operate, without,

YY Eyck, partners djing business in the city of

Peck tt Co., on the 20th day of January, A. D.
1854, by their attorney, filed their petition in the
office of the Clerk of the District Court of Travis
county, against W. P. McNamee and P. W. McNutt,
a firm then residing in the county of Travis, which
alleges, among other thing3, that the said firm of
McNamee and McNutt are justly indebted to them
Tn the sum of two hundred and nineteen dollars
and forty-one cents, (219 41} being a balance due
on an account current with the plaintiffs, (a copy
of which said account accompanies and is made a
part of said petition;) and petition alleges that the
said McNamee and McNutt have never paid the said
indebtedness nor any portion thereof, although of-
ten requested 30 to do.
the said defendant, McNamee, is about to remove
all his separate property and all the co-partnership

prays that attachment may issue against the prop-
erty of s&d defendants, in accordance with the

and letters of administration dc honis non, upon
his estate, were granted to one James A. Poage,
at the July Term a. d. 1851 of the County Court
of Bastrop county, in the said State of Texas.
That upon a sufficient representation to the said
county court of Bastrop county, at the August
Term, A. D. 1851 thereof, an order was made and
entered of record, of which the following is the
substance, to-wit:
Succession of Samuel K. Blish, James A. Poage,

ceased, filed his petition in said court, praying to
be allowed to sell the duplicate headright certifi-
cate of the deceased, to satisfy the debts against
the said estate, and it appearing to the Court that
there were claims and debts still due and unpaid
against said estate: It is ordered and decreed by
the Court that the administrator de bonis non be

cate of one-third of a league of land, retaining a
lien upon the same for the purchase money, and
make due return according to law."
That the said James A. Poage, administrator de

and order of sale, afterwards, on the 7th day of
October, a. d. 1851, being the first Tuesday there-
of, proceeded to sell the above described certifi-
cate, at public auction, to the highest bidder, at
the court-house door of the said county, within
the hours prescribed by law, when petitioner of-
fered the sum of one hundred aud thirty-one dol-

certificate was sold to him.
That afterwards, the said James A. Poage, ad-

complete assortment of Stationery; suffice it to
say that, in extent and variety, our stock is such as
will be found only in a first class Wholesale Book
aud Stationery House.
We are engaged in publishing a large number of
very popidar and saleable books, and there is uot
a merchant in Texas who could not sell largely of
them every year, if he would keep a small stock of
