Band Receives
Two Awards
The Croabyton High School
Chieftain Band has received two
awards since the beginning of
school for being the outstanding
band in different parades.
A large plaque was received
from Post for being the best
band in the parade held on Sep-
tember 14. The inscription read.
"To the Crosbyton High School
Band tot being the Best Parade
Band in the Golden Jubilee."
Recently the band received se-
cond place in Division A at the
Parade of Bands which opened
the South Plains Fair Sept. 23.
The prize was $50.00.
Perhaps the driving spirit be-
hind the band is the hope of go-
ing to the Tri-State Festival
which Is held even, spring at
Enid. Okla The members of the
band, being 86 strong, are very
enthusiastic about this. Deter-
mination and enough money are
needed.
Maintain Spirit
Despite Loses
The high spirited Chiefs again
tasted defeat Friday In Spur's
Jones Stadium before the heavy
Spur Bulldogs. Although the re-
sults of the last two games were
disappointing, the school still
maintains its enthusiasm and
school spirit.

0b the sane size gearhead. shafting and
bows yon will find onz price is
consistently lower.
When you get bids from other firms on a new irrigation well or a
new pump, be sure to inquire what size equipment you will re-
ceive. Our bid will be based on sizes which we know will give you
the most trouble-free service. And you wilTfind that out bid is
consistently lower when prices quoted are on the same size gear-
head, shafting and bows. Be sure now—rather than disappointed
later.
HERE'S OUR OFFER: We will driH and case your well, install a
Green pump, install motor, and finance the complete job. We can
drill your weD now and arrange for you to make your down pay-
ment after your crops are harvested. Green pumps are high in
qnaUty yet low in cost Can yon beat this offer?
It has been our experience that wells drilled while nearby wells
are not in operation usually develop better and make stronger
wells than those developed while the water table is low. This is an-
other reason for drilling now.
Abo, while we are not so busy you get better service because we
are able to spend more time developing your well We always use
our own developing pump to test and develop your well, in order
that your pump will not be damaged by excessive sand.
We might also remind you that there is no better time than now
to have us pull out and repair your old well, and install a new
Green pump if it is needed.
IWrik H over carefully, then come in and let us talk it over with
yen. We don't believe you will find a better offer anywhere.

High School would like to ex-
press their thanks and apprecia-
tion for the attendance and sup-
port the people of the town have
given the football team. The
support of the people does a
great deal to strengthen and
further the willingness of the
team and students in general.
Although the yell. "Two bits,
four bits, six bits, a dollar. All
for the Chiefs, stand up and hol-
ler" may not come at the most
convenient time of the game, all
those who do stand are even
more appreciated.

Some requests have been
made of the students to some-
way teach the adults of the town
the Alma Mater. ,Here are the
words to the school song. Per-
haps if it were clipped and put
in a billfold for easy access,
those who so desire could follow
the words or sing when the
band plays it.
