CAL FOUNDATION'S SAN JACINTO
F
More than $45,000 was raised to replenish the Texas Historical Foundation endowments, which fund preserva-
tion projects across the state. The mood was festive on April 23 at the Union Station Train Depot in Dallas as
approximately 150 people gathered to celebrate. From top left, clockwise: John Aughinbaugh makes a point as
he speaks with Sam Houston re-enactor Jack Edmondson; those assembled got to hear about the Battle of San
Jacinto from the man who led the Texians, Sam Houston; Abilene was well represented by (left to right) Gloria
McDaniel, Alice Wright, Bill Wright, Billye Proctor Shaw, and Glynn Ray; Jane and Peter Hayman came from
Austin to be part of the festivities; the auction area was the scene of active bidding throughout the evening. All
