Mrs. T. J. Patrick presided at
the regular meeting of the Wo-
man's Society of Christian Service
with Mrs. Glenford Fowler in
charge of the worship service.
'The Annual Conference report
was also conducted by Mrs. Fow-
ler, assisted by Mesdames Hamea
and Lamar.
Present were Mesdames H. S.
Crausbay, C. Gollihar, Q. L.
Hamesr J. C. Gunter, J. F. Ro-
berts, Gertrude Brixey, Glenford
Fowler, T. J. .Patrick, W. P. La-
mar, Misses Marie Lamar and
Penny Lemonds.

Rev. and Mrs. C. E. Dick, who
moved from the East Plains to
Lubbock a few months agor wttre
quests of honor at a dinner Satur-
day night' in Kattmann's Mipg
Tree restaurant' ,in Lubbock, cele-
brating the couple's Golden Wed-
ding anniversary.
Rev. Dick retired about two
years ago after 40 years of active
ministry in tjbe Baptist church,
eight of which were spent with
the Crosbyton First Baptist
chwch. The coUple were feted by
their six children. ' ;
" It was Feb. 3, 1901, when Rev.
and Mrs. Dicle were, married at-
Staff, Texas. The couple farmed
near there in Eastland county un-
til 1911 when Rev. Dick entered
Hardin-Simmon^ university in Ab-
ilene, then known as Simmons
college. .
.During his stay in Abiiene * he
was pastor of the First Baptist
church at McCaulley. Upon com-
pletion of his coljege work, Rev.
Dielr~and his family moved, to
Knox City and after a short stay
there they returned to. McCaul-
ley. • • ~ ~ . t - 7
Rev. Dick pasiored several Bap-
tist church in West Texas, in-
cluding Post, Crosbyton, Ovala
and Cotton Center. The family
lived in Crosbyton eight—years. .
In 1941 the couple moved back
to the^cene of Rev. Dick's first
pastorfte, McCaulley. They re-
mained there until 1948 -when • he
retired from the ministry and
moved to the East Plains near
their daughter, "Mrs. Frank Moore.

C. E. Dick, jr., of Deming, N. M.,
were unable to attends-
The couple also hav 12 grand-
children and one-great-grandchild.
Plans for a reception were can-
celled due to illness.

The Sew-Mor Club met Friday,
February 2, in the home of Mrs.
Virgirchron. During the business
meeting, Mrs. Bill McCray and
Mrs. Frank Brixey were voted in
as new members. A pleasant so-
cial hour followed and attractive
refreshments. were served to the

bons and make-up added, they
made quite an attractice group. n
Two games were played, one
with the girls and one with the
boys. The games proved to be ve-
ry exciting as well as comical. We
were glad to see such a large turn
out for the game. Hot dogs, pop
corn and cold drinks Were sold in
game go to the March of Dimes.
The Junior class met'on Tues-
day, Feb. 6, at 12:30 for a class
meeting. The basketball game we
were sponsoring was discussed
and different committees were as-
signed to take part. Tickets were
sold by the Juniors during the
week.
MARY BETH CLUB NEWS
The Mary Beth Club had a
meeting Friday morning at 8:30.
We -decided that we will—charge
35 cents for adults and 15 cents
for school children, ana nO charge
for children under school age for
the Mary Beth club play. We will
get a certain amount of points for
selling tickets. These points will
help us earn our way to state this
year. 1 1 ' =
Our next-meeting will be an-
nounced on the Mary Beth club
