RETURNS

a
INCOME
It is now time for income tax
returns to be Kotten ready and
filed for the year's business of
N* > duibt many taxpayers
will have overlooked keeping
proper data, and as a re ult
thou task of course in filing
returns will be more 01 less dif-
ficult.
There is very little trouble
in filing income tax returns if
proper bookkeeping has been
done during the period covered
by the returns.
Those business concerns,
they small or large, should
alize just the importance
maintaining correctly such
system of books that proper
data is readily assembled. It
is unfortunate for any person
or business that l^oper bu*!.
keeping is left undone, book-
keeping system in badness ami
other business principles arc
too much ignored by evei .> body
and as a consequence not only
the business suffers but direct-
ly and indirectly the people
have to stand the sacrifices as
well as the United States Gov-
ernment.
The Government is render-
ing a service to the people in
assisting free of charge tax-
payers in filing their income
tax returns. Just think a mo-
ment. The i>eople of every
community of any importance
will have the opportunity of
getting free of charge assist-
ance, of Deputy Collectors of
Internal Revenue Service dur-
ing the coming current income
tax drive.
1:. this Tyler division with
headquarters at Tyler, Texas,
there are number of counties
front Texarkana to Sulphur
Springs, from Crockett to Tex-
arkana, and from Tjler to Tex-
arkiina—all thi;< territory will
be made by deputy collectors
for the purpose of assisting
taxpayers in filing their in-
come tax returns.
These returns must be filed
not later than March 15, 1923,
or c-lse penalty for delinquency
will apply.
Every individual whose net
income amounts to $1000.00 or
$2000.00, regardless of being
single or married, as the case
may be, is required by regula-
tions to file income tax returns.
Every individual whose
gro?s income amounts to
$5,000.00, regardless of being
married or single, is required
to file a return.
Partnerships and corpora-
tions are, also, required to file
income tax returns.
It is suggested that each and
every individual who isn't cer-
tain of any requirements of the
income tax regulations to make
it convenient to see a deputy
collector who will visit each
and every town of importance,
before March 15, 1023. The
newspapers will give notices of
the dates. If this isn't con-
venient, if communication be
had with the Tyler division of-
fice. or collector's ej'fice, Dallas
Texas, proper information can
be ascertained.

Habit Has Tied Over Our Eyes
jAILY association ofttimes makes us so familiar
with the rooms we live in that we no longer
really see them.
Examine your home today. Be as critically open to
new impressions as a stranger. You will be amazed
shecked to discover how much deterioration and
ugliness has crept in unnoticed.
In a hundred places, indoors and out, here—there—
everywhere, you will see spots that are worn, shabby,
warped—spots where the beauty and value of your
home are being destroyed.
Open your eyes to the immediate need of paint and
varnish products in your home. And when you buy
paint and varnish products, buy only the best.
