in all church walls, but that it should
go out into the world. A reli-
gion locked up within church
walla or within the mind and
heart of a man or woman isn't
the kind that can l>e of much
help to the world. "The church
should be a power house, not a
safety vault." Christ taught
us to "Go out into the high-
ways and the hedges," for men
Looking to this end we have
arrangements by which
we are to have a down-town
Sunday School class every Sun-
day from 10 to 10:45 a. m„ and
a little later we hope to have a
service in the afternoon. This
class, which will be a men's
class, wiiySeet at the Amusu
Picture Show building, and will
be "Everyl)ody's Class." You
men can come in your overalls,
and if you haven't had time to
shave it vion't make any differ-
ence. We will have good music
with some specials. Don't for-
get the time, 10 a. m. The
class will adjourn in time for
you to go to preaching at some
of the churches if you desire to
do so, and we trust yx>u will do
it.
Our church is rejoicing in
the fact that it has been made
possible for Brother Cunning-
ham. who sang for us during
our Pre-Easter meeting, to be
with us permanently, and he
will serve in the capacity of
Recreational Secretary and Mu-
sic Director. We want the
young people to feel free to call
upon him for any help they
may need. He is a most thor-
ough musician and can be found
anywhere, and is a competent
and J1 wiser rated leader. Any
church is fortunate indeed to
secure the services of such
man, and we count it one of the
forward steps of the church
here, to say nothing of the ad-
dition he will be to the town as
a citizen amongst us.
Don't fail to hear Jeff Smith
next Sunday. He's a real gen-
ius, and almost a wonder. The
children will enjoy him at the
Sunday School. Bring them to
hear him.
God is greatly blessing our
work here, and if we continue
in His love His promise is that
He will continue to bless, and
His promises never fail.
We invite those who do not
worship elsewhere to every ser-
vice. We preach Christ and
Him crucified.
W. S. Dabney, Pastor.
BAPTIST CHURCH NOTES
j Theo. A. Binford, Pastor.
I We made another forward
step in our services Sunday,
The attendance at Sunday
School was beyond anything
this year. We had 213 by ac
tual report from the secretar
ies. We appreciate the growth.
We still have room for others.
The morning preaching ser-
vice was exceedingly well at-
tended and the spirit of the ser-
vice was very gratifying. The
pastor is pleased to note evi-
dences of increased spirituality
in all the services.
Sunday night we had a spe-
cial service for men. It had
been pretty well advertised and
we were well pleased with the
response. The house was com-
fbrtably filled with men and
boys and the attention was
wonderful. We have a definite
and an abiding interest in men.
and we had this service to show
that interest. We feel that
the effort paid.
We had another home servic"
Sunday, this time in the home
of Dr. Hill, whose go d wife
has been sick for several years.
We enjoyed the experience and
the family gave good evidence
that they enjoyed it. We want
to carry the Gospel message to
any who would like for us to
come.
Our prayer meeting last r_,
week was a great one. The at-j Ibere will be a union singing

The hbme was arrayed in

ter a program of artistically
rendered music, the ever reviv

was indulged in until the guest:-
were bidden to the dining room
for a buffet luncheon. As the
guests were being served the
brides-to-be were filled with
wonder that their servings
