OUR NEW POLIC Y
In the November issue we inaugurated the policy of sub-
scriptions. The response has been very gratifying. This was
not intended as a money making proposition but was intended
to cover only a part of the expense of printing and distribution
of the subscriber's magazine. We have learned some interest-
ing facts through this policy and we feel that perhaps some
further explanation should be given.
All members who are in good standing, that is to say who
have paid their current dues, receive this magazine without
further cost of any sort. We are happy also to send the mag-
azine without charge to the headquarters of other organizations
similar in nature to the Associated Art Instructors of Texas,
and to a number of other art organizations. It might be of
interest to you to know that your magazine is regularly sent
to thirty-two states of the United States and to seventeen Pan-
American countries.
Thus far in the publication of this magazine we have been
able to secure articles from eminent artists and art teachers
both from Texas and elsewhere. We have also been able to
secure, entirely without cost to us, original 'drawings and
prints for reproduction or direct printing. We will probably
be able to continue this good fortune in view of the wonderful
spirit of cooperation thus far manifested by the members of
the profession of art. But we are not satisfied. The officers
, of the organization and the editorial staff of the magazine
both feel that it is the more obscure artist and art teacher
who need to make themselves articulate. Since this is a maga-
zine devoted to the cause of art education in all its levels it is
only fitting and proper that all teachers everywhere in the
state consider it their obligation as well as their privilege to
advance the publication in every way possible. One good way
to do this is to contribute material for publication. Don't wait
until we contact you personally, for this is almost impossible
to do. Send in any 'materials which you consider suitable for
publication in this magazine; we will try to publish them to
the limits of our space.
And now let's repeat the subscription notice which we in-
augurated with the November issue. We will send the maga-
zine for one year anywhere in the Western Hemisphere that
you designate for forty cents. If you are a member of the
Associated Art Instructors of Texas do not subscribe as you
are entitled to the magazine .with your membership. But if
you want to send a year of art' ucation to a friend, a colleague
in another state or nation, to your superintendent or principal,
just send in their name together with forty cents. You may
send stamps but please make them two-cent stamps.
