Trias Wheat.
The following Is from tho Bt. Louis
Uepublluun and is indicative of the
high value of our seotlon au u grain
producing country. Texas wheat ranks
high in any market and this year is
suld to be tho finest ever seen :
Hoveral days ago the Kopubllean
made mention of a sample of wheat
heads from Texas which were pro-
nounced remarkable for early matu-
rity of the grulu and to-day Messrs. K.
M. Samuels & Hons exhibited a sam
ple received from Mr. C. ti. Mitchell
Dallas Texas which was more re
markable for maturity of tho grain
pronounced by Iuspector Livingston
the fluent he ever saw ao early lu the
season. The heads were short and
compact entirely free from chad hulls
and from the development of the graiu
of a weight that was surprising.

The managers of the Main street oar
line have often Intimated that they
would extend their Hue to the fair
grounds and the people have waited
in expectancy thinking that the de
sirable event would oome to pass but
alas 1 no signs. There have beeu pub-
Ho demonstrations and proceedings
enough taken place in the last year to
have made the extension pay in con-
nection with the ordinary travel they
would get Hardly a week passes but
a picnic or ball match or something
of the kind comes oil and the fair
grounds is the objective point. Hoon
we will have the races and then the
fair with other things Interspersed.
Will the road be extended or not ?

left and the smaller vessels have been
sunk or haulod ashore. In the town
there la a perceptible scarcity of pro-
visions. A Vienna dispatch to the Times saya
the proclamation of a holy war looks
like yielding to the popular domand
which ha i been growing louder dally
that the sultan Joins the army. The
proposition that the sultan will quit
Constantinople has naturally raised
the question whether It Is safe to leave
behind a parliament which Is becom-
ing difficult to manage and which
moreover has the whole population
of Constantinople at IU back. It la no
wonder therefore that Constantinople
during the last few days has been
filled with rumors of ah Impending
dissolution of a coup d'etat. It la
felt even at the palace that Mouhktar

recall yet a fresh attempt of the
