Southwestern Life has never had a de«
fault in payment of principal or inter-
est on any bond owned by it. Market
value of bonds December 8i, 1939, ex-
ceeded by 82,696,276 the book value
used in the balance sheet.
All Southwestern Life policies are reg-
istered by the State Insurance Commis-
sion. Southwestern Life now has on de-
posit with Jit State of Texas $44,237,0-
67 to guarantee the fulfillment of Its
contracts.
Beneficiaries and policyowners have
the right to leave policy proceeds with
the Company under various attractive
options. The Company guarantees 3 &
1 2 % interest on the deferred install-
ments. During 1940 surplus interest of
1-2 pur cent will also be paid, making a
total of 4 per cent return on these in-
stall men ts.
Since organization in 1908, Southwest-
ern Life has paid to policyowners and
beneticiaries $66,862,066.24.
