NEWS FROM DALLAS
Mrs. Mary Laurence and daughter
have returned from a visit to relatives
in Kansas City.
Miss Annie Hurwitz who has been
the popular house guest of the Frams
has prone to Waco where she will visit
a week before returning to her home
in Houston.
An occasion which will be long re-
membered by those who were present
is the Brith Milah of the newly born
son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Segal
which took place on Thursday August
28. Rev. A. Fram officiated in his
usual manner. Some one hundred ami
twenty-five guests were bidden to be
present at this all-importnnt occasion.
Tables which were heavily laden with
the most delicious viands were set out
on the lawn. Between course toasts
were offered and after dinner speech-
es were delivered by Rev. Kleinman
Rabbi Hosniak Rev. Rrestler and
Rev. Fram. To honor this happy event
the father of the rhild dispensed char-
ity in a most lavish manner. Over
seven hundred dollars were distributed
by Mr. Segal to the Jewish War Re-
lief for the building fund of the
Shar.reth Israel Synniroguc and for
the Hebrew Schools of Dallas.
In honor of Miss Anna Hurwitz of
Houston the guest of her cousins
Pauline Miriam and Rose Fram a
jolly crowd motored to the Zoo where
a few hours were spent in kodaking.
After a number of snapshots were
taken the crowd repaired to Thomas'
Tea Rooms where delicious sandwich-
es banana splits and drinks were
served. Then n spin through the city
was enjoyed and an hour of dancing
and singing at the home of the lvstes-
es completed this merry afternoon. At
night four couples composed a theatre
party at the Majestic in honor of Miss
Hurwitz.

Mrs. Louis Herman and Marie Ruse
have returned from a trip to Manitou
and Colorado Springs.
After a delightful vacation spent in
Roselle Park N. J. .Rockaway Beach
and New York Mr. and Mrs. N. Cold-
stein and daughter Miss Fstelle have
returned to their home 2531 Forest
Avenue.
Announcement of the marriage of
Miss Olive Robertson daughter of
Judge and Mrs. Felix D. Robertson
to Herbert Brin of Dallas at Hotel
Alexandria Los Angeles California
has been received.
Miss Leo Tarns has returned from
Frankfort Mich. where she spent the
summer months with her grandmother
Mrs. Levy of Houston who is now
visiting in Dallas.
Mr. and Mrs. Isaac'Harris and chil-
dren Mildred and Norma are in the
city after a trip to New York and
Canada.
Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Rosenbaum and
children came home Monday after-
noon after an enjoyable visit to the
East where they spent the heated
term.
After a month's vacation on the Pa.
cific Coast Mr. and Mrs. Dave Elsas
and son Robert have returned to the
city.
Miss Lucille Frier is at home after
a four weeks' stay at Western resorts.
Edward Titche has gone to Boulder
and Colorado Springs on a three
week's trip. Mr. Titche will join his
sister. Mrs. Sidney Spencer who is
spending the summer at Hotel Broad-
moor. Mrs. Hattye Fechenbach Mrs. Hen-
ry Bromberg and little sons arrived
home Monday from Chicago Beach.
Mrs. M. Lichenstein little grand-
son and maid are at home after a
lengthy sojourn in Eastern resorts.
Mrs. Nathan E. Mitthenthal. son
and daughter returned Saturday from
New York and Maine after a stay of
three months. While absent from the
city Miss Blanche Mittenthal attended
the Girls' Camp at Camp Tango Cas-
ca Maine where she spent a thor-
oughly enjoyable summer indulging
in the various outdoor sports.
Mr. and Mrs. Abe Marks and baby
daughter spent the day in Dallas yes-
terday en route to Sherman.
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Joseph have
returned from Cievelanjl and New
York.
Announcement of the marriage of
Adolph Mayer to Miss Lottie Trube of
Chicago has been received. Mr. Mayer
formerly resided in Dallas but now
makes bis home in Oklnhonia City.

JEWISH HOLIDAY SERVICES.
Dr. Henry Englander registrar of
Hebrew Union College. Cincinnati 0.
has !een secured by Temple Emanu-
El to officiate over the holidays. He
will officiate at Rosh Hashonna the
Jewish New Year which occurs Sept.
24 and will remain here until Yom
Kippur Oct. 1.
A press report says: "Dr. Engend-
er is a man of wide learning and has
a gracious and magnetic platform
personality."
A special holiday musical program
is being prepared by Mrs. J. H. Cassi-
dy musical director.
A committee headed by J. K. Hexter
has been appointed by Herbert Marcus
president of the congregation to
select a new rabbi to succeed Dr. Wil-
liam H. Greenburg whose resignation
took effect August 1. They will be
prepared to announce the selection
after the holidays.
ALEX SANGER INVITED TO
STUDY IN EUROPE.
An invitation has been extended
Alex Sanger of Dallas to visit Eu-
rope with a commission of National
Retail Dry Goods Association to study
business and general conditions over-
seas. Mr. Sanger and Charles L. San-
ger are now in New York. The com-
mission will tour France England and
other European countries.
