.Isidore Cwengel is spending the
week in Dallas and Fort Worth with
friends and relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. B. Z. Friedman and
son Aaron IdelL returned Monday
from San Antonio where they spent
the last half of Hanukah with their
children Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Wasser-
man. Mr. Friedman left Monday
night on busyness for New York and
also will visit Chicago and St Louis
and expects to be away about two
weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. B. Z. Friedman are
proud parents of a second grandson
born to their oldest son Nathtaly of
Oakland California.
Mrs. Ben Levy entertained with a
six course luncheon at Josephs Friday
in honor of the visitors and their hos-
tesses. The table was beautifully dec-
orated with flowers and appropriate
place cards marked the following

and their house gueeta Miss Frieda
Swartzberg of Baltimore Florence
Goldberg of Temple Mrs. H. Cress-

Miss Anna Rosje Eeene entertained
most delightfully with a seven-course
luncheon last Saturday noon at the
Metropolitan Hotel honoring her
guest Miss Regina Schwartz of Ard-
more. The chosen color scheme was
red and green. The centre of the table
was ornamented with a large vase of
poinsetttas. China favors were given

were hostts at a family dinner last
Saturday evening at Josephs' in cele-
bration of their twentieth wedding an-
niversary. A seven course dinner was
served. Place cards bore the names

was best man at the wedding twenty
years ago and Mrs. Gans maid of
honor. Favors were slippers filled with
almonds and boxes of wedding cake.
Mr. arid Mrs. Henry Spero left the
latter part of the week for a visit with
relatives in Texarkana.
Mr. and Mrs. David Colton and little
daughter and Mrs. J. B. Colton have
gone to New York on a business trip.
En route Mrs. David Colton and
daughter will upend a few days in
Shreveport visiting relatives.
Mrs. I. Davidson entertained Mon-
day with a luncheon at Joseph's Cafe
in honor of her sister Miss Sylvia
Joseph and of Mrs. Florence Goldberg
of Temple Miss Louise Marks of
Sherman Miss Libby Weisman of
Shreveport and Mis.1) Freda Schwartz-
berg of Baltimore. Other guests were
Misses Frances and Rose Neumegn
Anna Rose Keene Annette Lederman
and Mrs. Dave Colton.
Messrs. Herbert and Bernard Jos-
eph Earnest Marks and Leo Potish-
man honored their young lady friends
with a barn dance in the ball room of
the Sam Joseph home last Sunday
evening. A buffet luncheon waa served.
Novel favors were given the guests
who looked unusually well in their
rustic costumes.
Mrs. S. Gordon attended the New
Years' Ball given by the Columbian
Club of Dallas.
The formal ball given by the Ladies
Auxiliary of Temple Beth-El for the
benefit of the building fund of the new
Temple last Tuesday evening in the
Metropolitan Hotel was a very bril-
liant affair. The gowns worn by the
ladies were unusually handsome.
About one hundred and fifty couples
took part in the grand march which
was led by Mr I. S. Brin president
of the Auxiliary and Mr. H. I. Pin-
cus chairman of the men's committee.
Punch and mints were served through-
out the evening. The dancing lasted
until one o'clock. Credit for the tre-
mendous success of the affair is due
Mr. H. I. Pir.cus. Mr. Louis Morris Mr.
I. S. Brin and Mrs. I. S. Brin.
Mr. and Mrs n Lederman gave a
formal dance at the-Hebrew Institute
the nijjht of December 25 at which
their daughter Miss Annette Leder-
man made her debut Mis Lederman's
guest Miss Libby Weisman was also
one of the honorees. Miss Lederman
led the grand march choosing as her
partner Mr. Herbert Jacobs of New
York. A buffet supper was served to
about forty couples.
Mr. and Mrs. Michael Joseph and
Misi Marie Joseph have returned from
an extensive trip throughout the
north and east.

Mr. and Mrs. H. Lederman compli-
mented their daughter Miss Annette
a debutante and her guest Misji Lib-
bie Julia Weisman of Shreveport La.
with a formal ball on Christmas night.
The ball room was attractive with hol-
iday colors. A buffet supper was serv.
ed throughout the evening. Several
novel dances were introduced; ladies
and gentlemen's favor dances star-
light and cigarette dances. The grand
march was led by Miss Lederman and
Mr. Herbert Jacobs of New York City.

of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Prager.
The Bris Melah was held last Sun-
day and a collection of $21.00 wa.- tak-
en up for the poor people.
Miss Helen Goodman who is at-
tending Kidd Key College has arrived
in Fort Worth after spending part of
the vacation holida7a with her parents

Mr. Sam Breacher and daughter
leave for New York and Eastern mar-
keti to purchase their spring line of
ladies' ready to wear. They will be

Mr Sol Brachman waa host on New
Years' Eve at a watch party in honor
of Miss Libby Weisman. of Shreveport.
A table was reserved at the Metropoli-
tan hotel for nineteen people. The cen-
tre of the table was ornamented with
a large basket of carnations. To the
gentlemen favors of amber cigarette
holders were given and the ladies re-
ceived ivory fans. Cigars and cigar-
ettes were iprved after the dinner.

Dr. George Fox was elected one of
the directors of the Kiwanis Club of
Fort Worth. This is one of the prin-
cipal civic organizations of the city.
Miss Ruth Gilbert entertained with
a formal -dance at the Hebrew Insti-
tute New Years' night honoring her
house party and Mrs. David Colton
and her guests. The honorees are Mis-
ses Blooma Kaplan Miqi Helen Gold-
man and Miss Sadie Jack all of Waco

Mr. and Mrs. Isidore Gennett of
Bronx N. Y. are the proud parents of
a baby girl. Mr. Gennett waa formerly
of Fort Worth and served as a soldier
in the late war.

HOSPITALS IN SIBERIA UTILIZE
OLD TIN CANS.
Milk cans water bucket .nnd old
gasoline tins eerved aa emergency
equipment in Serbian hospitals hastily
constructed in the remote districts by
Red Cross physicians and nurses who
are on duty in this country. No other
equipment was available.
The hospital unit!) have been oblig-
ed to use iron cots without apringi
handmade wooden tables dressing
stands and medicine closets roughly
constructed from used packing boxes.
The milk cans are used for dippers.
Stoves are made from cement nd iron.
Instrument are few dressings are
sterilised and used over and over
gain and what few rubber .gloves
re on hand are patched and repatched
with tire cement until they literally
re reduced to shreds.
