visiting her sister Mrs. A. Simon.
Miss Lissner is the guest of Mrs.

Morris Wood.
A very enjoyable affair was held
New Year'a Eve at the Progress Club.
Guests for the ball were Misses Liss-
ner of Baumont Miss Hirsch of Fort
Worth and Mr. Walter Godlove of St.
Louis Mo.
. Last Sunday afternoon the children
of the Temple Rodef Sholom Sunday
School entertained their parents and
friends with two Hanukah plays
"What's Tonight?" and a "Delayed
Birthday." Thanks are due Misses
Blooma Kaplan Leah Friedman and
Sadye Berkman for their efforts in
making the plays a success.
The funeral of Mr. Greenberg of
Gatesville who died suddenly last
Wednesday was held here last Thurs-
day. Mr. Greenberg was a brother-in-law
of Mr. S. Kestner of this city. Sin-
cerest condolescences are extended
the bereaved family.
Mr. B. Novick of New York was a
visitor in our city last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Milton Ettenheim (nee
Miss Sadye Hawtof ) of Milwaukee are
the proud parents of a fine daughter.
On Thursday afternoon Miss Jen-
nie Novich envited a few of her
friends over to see her trousseau.
Beautiful beyond description was the
gorgeous array of lines and lingerie.
Delicious punch and angel food cake
was served the guests.
Miss Rosalie Lazarus entertained on
Tuesday afternoon with a Hippodrome
box party in honor of her aunt Miss
Jennie Novich who becomes the bride
of Mr. Hyman Block on January 8th.
Mr. Gus Fred returned to Galveston
where he is a student in the medical
college after spending . the vacation
with his parents Mr. and Mrs. L.
Fred.
Mr. J. 0. Berlowitz left Sunday for
New York.
TYLER.
Miss Millie Heffler entertained Sun-
day afternoon for Misses Ida Greines
and Jennette Ginsburg of Fort Worth.
Bunco proved the diversion of the af-
ternoon the prizes going to Miss Le-
na Rosenthal and Mr. Matier.
In the evening the same crowd met
at Mrs. L. Goldstucker's to dance sev-
eral pleasant hours away. Novelty
dances added to the attraction of the
evening. A two course luncheon was
served the guests at midnight The
out-of-town guests were: Misses Pearl
Goldstucker of Wichita Falls Ida
Greines and Jennette Ginsburg of
Fort Worth and Messrs. Matier of
Texarkana and Miller of Oklahoma.
Mrs. E. Pines entertained with a
card party for Misses Ida Greines and
Jennette Ginsburg and Mr. Matier.
After several exciting games refresh-
ments were served to the jolly crowd
of boys and girls.
A crowd of girls and boys who en-
joyed a kodaking party were: Misses
Beatrice and Marion Goldstucker Ida
Greines Jennette Ginsburg Celia
Golenternek and Clarice Jacobson of
Savannah Ga. and Messrs. Simon
Meyer M. G. Goldstucker Leo Philip
and Hyman Golenternek and Syney
Lynn. .
The Ladies' Aid Society entertained
with a Watch Party and Dance Wed-
nesday night.
Misses Ida Greines and Jennette
Ginsburg of Fort Worth have returned
to their homes after a delightful stay
with friends and relatives.
Mr. Simon Meyer has resumed his
studies at A. & M. College.
Miss Clarice Jacobson of Savannah
Ga. spent a pleasant day with friends
on her way to El Paso.
A son was born to Mr. and Mrs.
Philip Lipstate and was named Phil-
ip Harry Lipstate. The young man is
a grandson of Rabbi M. Faber. .
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Goldstucker of
Tyler announce the engagement of
their daughter Marion to Mr. Joe
Emold of Wichita Falls Texas.

tives. Miss Josie Kahn of Dallas who has
been here on a visit to her uncle and
aunt Mr. and Mrs. Nathan H. Levy
returned home last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lisso and chil-
dren of El Paso is here the guest of
Mr. and Mrs. Ike Hockwald and Miss
Roberta.
Mrs. Lillie Winters and daughter of
Denver Colo. who has been the guest
of her father Mr. Mose Wiesman and
sister Mrs. Sam Wolf and other rel-
atives returned home.
Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Kranson of
Natchez La. who have been here on
a visit to her parents Mr. and Mrs.
R. Bearman returned home last week.
Miss Dora Braunig of Shreveport
spent Sunday with her sisters Mrs. N.
Stern and Mrs. Joe Schendel.
Mr. and Mrs. B. Roth and son Aaron
who spent the holidays with relatives
