Ladies' Auxiliary of Temple Israel

The Temple Sisterhood has been real
active this year. We have furnished
the kitchen of our newly built Temple
and many affairs have been given in
our social centre room terminating
successfully both in a social and finan-
cial way.
Monthly bridge parties are held. In

big and different. A cabaret dance

The Haddassah held their regular
monthly meeting at the home of Mrs.
Sam Travis. This organization is do-
ing wonderful work. Almost two hun-
dred dresses a month are sent to
headquarters in New York outside of
other contributions that are asked
for. At their recent dance they netted
$500.00.
The Council of Jewish Women gave
a Membership Dance Wednesday Jan.
14th. Each member brought in a new
member and a large number of new
workers were thus secured.
Mrs. Ben Levy entertained twenty-
five of her friends at the Orpheum on
Wednesday Jan. 14th. After enjoying
a good show the crowd sojourned to
course luncheon was served.
Mrs. L. D. Lefkowitz entertained
Sunday for her sister Miss Bascomb
of St. Louis. Bridge was the diver-
sion of the afternoon and several beau-
tiful prizes were awarded for high
score.
Miss Esther Fox gave a bridge par-
ty honoring Miss Aileen Kahn of Ard-
more Okla. Miss Kahn is the guest of
her aunts Mesdames Julius Kahn and
has been the recipient of numerous so-
cial affairs.
Mrs. A. R. Simons and Mrs. Ed Le-
vin gave a line party at the Orpheum
recently. There were twenty guests.
Refreshments were servere after the
show at the Candy Shop.
Dr. George Fox returned Tuesday
from Amarillo where he addressed a
meeting of the B'nai B'rith Lodge
Sunday afternoon. On Sunday evening
Dr. Fox addressed a union meeting of
the churches of the First Presbyter-
ian church.
Miss Sylvia Joseph honored Misses
Leonce Baer of Pensacola and Bea-
trice Wertheimer of Dallas with a lun-
cheon at Joseph's Wednesday. Those
present were Misses Anne Lederman
