ready been confirmed by the Belgium
government

SKY. Warsaw: (By I. J. P. B.) Recently a
delegation of rabbis and Jewish prom-
inent men of Lods visited the Arch-

Domb head of the delegation blessed
the prelate and requested him in the
name of the Jews of Lods to use his
influence toward the development of
greater friendliness and more pacific
relations between the Jews and the
Poles. Cardinal Kakowsky greeted the
delegation with much amiability and

ate the relations between the Jews and

evenutally a satisfactory solution of
the pressing Jewish problem would be
found.
TWO JEWS RUN FOR MAYOR OF
BERLIN.
Berlin: (By I. J. P. B.) Berlin is now
facing a new mayorial election. Among
the three most popular candidates who
have the best chances of being elected
there are no less than two Jews the
ex-premier of Prussia Paul Hirsch
and Dr. Freund. The third candidate
Is also far from being hostile to the
Jews. He has already publicly protest-
ed against the anti-Semitic agitation

GRAVES OF JEWISH SOLDIERS
DECORATED.
Breslau: (By I. J. P. B.) The local
Jewish community assigned 246000
narks for the decoration of the graves
of the Jewish soldiers who fell in the
World War. There was set aside 100-
000 marks more for the building of a
monument at the same honor cemetery
of the Jewish soldiers.
American Jews may well follow the
example of their German co-religlon-ists
and appoint a commission to
beautify the graves of American Jew-
ish heroes and set tip monuments la
their honor.
JEWISH PROFESSOR AND ANTI-
SEMITIC STUDENTS.
Frankfurt: (By I. J. P. B.) During
the first lecture by the Jewish Profes-
sor Hugo Sinzheimcr his anti-Semitic
students made a hostile demonstration
against him and for a time prevented
the continuation of the discourse. The
majority of the students however fa-
vored their professor and succeeded in
throwing the few anti-Semites out of
the lecture hall.
Not satisfied with their first attempt
or with the treatment that they re-
ceived the anti-Semitic students
printed a special declaration in one
of the anti-Semitic newspapers in
which they said that the German stu-
dents of the Frankfurt University
have absolutely no respect for their

RADES ZIONIST
CELEBRAION.
Warsaw: (By I. J. P. B.) When the
Jewish students returned to the Po-
lish school of Commerce the morning
after the Zionist celebration of the
San Remo decision to establish a Jew-
ish Homeland in Palestine they were
attacked by the Polish students of the
same institution and seven fights en-
sued. The fighting was finally stop-
ped by a teacher of the School of Com-
merce who explained to the Polish
students that the Jews were granted
a school holiday by the Ministry on the
occasion of the celebration.
their knowledge especially if it is in
print A public trial would show how
utterly without foundation the charge
is. It might not be possible to prove
malice on the part of Henry Ford. He
has established an international repu-
tation of being a consummate fool out-
side of matters pertaining to his trade
and business. A trial however would
accomplish two things: one to prove
that the charge is absolutely without
any foundation in fact and the other
is that American Jewry is not to be
attacked with impunity and when our
good name is assailed we are not only
going to protect it but we are going
to fight back. There are a number of
existing organizations that could take
this matter in hand. Should they fail
to do so there ought to be among us
some public-spirited citizens who will
be the champions of Judaism and Jew-
ry and defend our good name. Ameri-

trains known as the Coalition-Train on
which diplomats travel. A soldier who
stood on the step did not allow her to
enter. When the woman Insisted that
she had a right to board the train the
soldier suddenly drew his bayonet and
sunk it into her breast

Rabbi Leo M. Franklin of Detroit
who was recently presented with a
very handsome special ear as a token
of personal friendship by Mr. Henry
Ford has returned the car to the don-
or on the ground that he could not
with self-respect continue to be the
recipient of favors at th hands of one
who has proved himself to be an ene-
my of the Jewish people. This was of
course a very proper thing for Rab-
bi Franklin who is the president of
the Central Conference of American
Rabbis to do. But it will effect noth-
ing. There is only one way to meet
assaults of the kind made on Jewry by
Henry Ford and his confederates of
the Dearborn Independent and that
is by instituting criminal proceedings
pereferably In a federal court The
burden of proof of the truth of the
charge that there is a conspiracy of in-
ternatlonal Jewish financiers to rule
the world and extinguish Christianity
would unquestionably rest with those
who made the accusation. The state-
ment that such a combination exists is
of course absurd without the least
foundation In fact but there are plen-
ty of ignorant or fanatical people who
are ready to believe anything that Is
detrimental to Jews that is brought to
