Mr. David Ballas left Tuesday for
the Eastern market to buy goods for
the new store which is to opened
about July 15 and is to be located on
Houston street. '
Mr. L. F. Shanblum delegate from
the Fort Worth District to the Jew-
ish Congress returned Monday from
Philadelphia and Eastern points. Mr.
Shanblum will tell the Jewish people
of this city what the Congress accom-
plished at a Fourth of July Celebra-
tion given principally in his honor
showing the high esteem in which he
is held in this community by both the
Orthodox and Reform Jews.

The Hebrew Institute was a scene
of gayety last Sunday night when Mr.
and Mrs. Ed Krist entertained several
couples with a dancing party to cele-
brate their first wedding anniversary.
Twelve musical numbers played by
the Metropolitan Legitimate Jazz Or-
chestra under the leadership of Miss
Hazel Boyer helped to make the af-
fair a very delightful one.
Those enjoying this pleasant occas-

spending several months in El Paso.

Mrs. J. N. Hirsch left Friday for
Dallas after a visit with Mrs. A. B.
Wolfson. Mrs. Hirsch was the honoree
at several social functions.
Miss Bess Bearman has returned to
her home in Dallas after a two weeks'
visit with Miss Rose Riescnberg. Miss
Bearman was the honoree at several
social functions.
Mr. Abe Lebenson complimented
Miss Bearman of Dallas with a dinner
party at Motor Tavern. Those in the
party were Misses Bearman Riescn-
berg Mrs. Jared Simmons Messrs. A.
Lebenson M. H. Lcterman r.nd Bob
Green.
Mrs. A. B. Wolfson was hostess at a
bridge party given in honor of her
house guests Mrs. J. N. Hirsh of
Houston. A color scheme of orchid was
used throughout the entire reception
suite. Guest prizes were given to the
honoree (a pair of hose) Miss Bess
Bearman of Dallas and Mrs. Leon
Fine of Burkburnett received station-
ery. The bridge prize was awarded
to Mrs. Jared Simmons which was a
lovely bottle of toilet water. The "500"
prize toilet water fell to Mrs. Tom
Gamett. Favors were tiny boquets of
orchid sweet peas. A salad course and
cantaloupe a la mode was served to

Bearman of Dallas and Rose Riescn-
berg. Mrs. Joe Art and Miss Rose Riesen-
bcrg entertained Monday afternoon at
bridge and "500" complimenting Miss
Bess Bearman of Dallas and Mrs. J.
N. Hirsh of Houston. The high score
in bridge a dainty sachet was won by
Mrs. Jared Simmons and Mrs. J. N.
Dampf received a similar sachet in
"500." Miss Bearman was presented
with a rose brocaded pin box and Mrs.
Hirsch received an individual water
bottle and glass in French design. Mrs.
Harry Frankel of Vernon was present-
ed with a fancy candy box and Miss
Tressa Kleinman of Dallas and Ruth
Goldsmith of Corsicana received sta-
tionery. Refreshments of molded ice
cream in form of a lily and cake was
served. Besides the honorees those
present were Misses Tressa Kleinman
of Dallas Ruth Goldsmith of Corsica-
na Mesdames Jared Simmons Fine
Kaufman Eli Bernstein Paul Rosen-
thal Wolfson Marcus Dampf L. Co-
hen Lebenson Greenburg Pink Klein-
man Frankel of Vernon and Miss
Elsie Cohen.
Mrs. Joe Art and children accom-
panied by Mrs. S. Riesenberg and Miss
Rose Riesenberg left Friday for Den-
ver Salt Lake City and Los Angeles
Cal. They will be away until September.
Mrs. Dave Paul honored Mrs. J. N.
Hirsh of Houston with a theatre par-
ty at the "Wichita." Mrs. Hirsh was
presented with blue and gold brocade
pin tray while dainty guest prizes of
powder boxes were given to Misses
Bess Bearman of Dallas Ruth Gold-
smith of Corsicana and Tressa Klein-
man of Dallas. Refreshments were
served at the Wilford-Harrison Drug
Store. Other guests besides Mrs.
Hirsh were Mesdames Kaufman Wolf-
son Marcus L. Cohen Greenberg

Mrs. Saul Lebenson entertained at
bridge and 500 in the dining room of
the William & Mary Hotel on Thurt
day afternoon naming Miss Bearman
of Dallas and Mrs. J. N. Hirsh of
Houston as honorees. Punch was serv-
ed during the games after which a
salad and ice course was served to the
honorees and Misses Elsie Cohen
Fieldschmidt and Rose Riesenberg.
