sume the civic job of raising
$17,606 for the Morris County
United Fund this year.
The drive, under the leadership
of Randy G. Moore of Omaha,
county chairman, will be made next
Monday, Oct. 25.
The community chairmen are

Bill Henderson of Naples, Mrs.
Rocky Stoermer of Lone Star, Mrs.
Sam Fowler Jr., of Jenkins, and

Mrs. Tom Ewan of Daingerfield.
Mrs. Clayton's husband is an
employee in the rolling mill divi-
sion of Lone Star Steel Company.
Mr. and Mrs. Clayton have three
children, Nancy, F rankie and Rob-
ert, who is finishing the final re-
quirements for the Boy Scout Eagle
Award.
Mrs. Clayton is an active mem-
ber of the Paul Pewitt PTA, the
Brahma Booster Club, and the Band
Booster Club. She also is a mem-
ber of the Concord Missionary
Baptist Church where she assists
in the activities of the young peo-
ple.
Henderson is a rural carrier
from the Naples post office. He
and his wife, Beverly, are the
parents of two daughters, Holly,
and Mrs. John Mills of Kilgore.
Henderson is a member of the
First United Methodist Church of
Naples where he is an adult teach-
er and vice chairman of the board.
He is also a member of the
Scottish Rite and Shrine, Lions
Club, a director of the Red River
Girl Scout Council, and past presi-
dent of the Northeast Texas Rural
Letter Carriers Association.
Mrs. Fowler's husband is a mill-
wright at Lone Star Steel Com-
pany. The couple have three chil-
dren, Mrs. Johnny Joyner of Om-
aha, James Fowler of New Bos-
ton, and Steve, who is a fresh-
man at Stephen F. Austin Univer-
sity at Nacogdoches.
Mrs. Fowler has participated in
United Fund drives before. She is
a member of the United Methodist
Church and the WSCS in Jenkins,
the Hospital Auxiliary of Hospital
in the Pines at Lone Star, and the
Daingerfield Garden Club.
Mrs. Stoermer is the wife of an
engineer at Lone Star Steel Com-
pany and the couple have nine chil-
dren.
Mrs. Stoermer is a charter
member of of the Lone Star PTA, a
director of the Lone Star City
Youth Council, and a member of the
TOPS Club. She is also a member
of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic
Church and is parliamentarian of
the NCCW.
Mrs. Stoermer also has helped
with the United Fund drives in the
county before.
Mrs. Ewan's husband is an ev-
vironmental and aerospace consul-
tant. They have two sons. Ken and
Sam, both Eagle Scouts, who are
students at the University of Texas
in Austin.
Mrs. Ewan is a graduate of the
College of William and Mary, and
Oklahoma University. She is presi-
dent of the local chaper of PEO,
a philanthropic and educational
organization, was active in Cub
Scouting and served as a den moth-
er, is a past president of the Dain-
gerfield PTA, is a charter mem-
ber of the Maia Club and is now
an inactive member, is active in
the Presbyterian church, and the
auxiliary of Hospital in the Pines.
Mrs. Ewan headed the census
in Morris and Camp counties in
1970.

Brook of Carrizo Springe
arrived Sunday afternoon
to visit in the homes of
his sisters, Mrs. Mary
Swint and Mrs. Evelyn
Parrish.
Mrs. Kaufman, Mrs. G.
H. Gamble and Mrs. Ethel
Jackson of Shreveport
were visitors in the home
of Mrs. Nell Eitel Friday.
Mrs. Jackson will stay
over for a few weeks to
be with Mrs. Eitel.
W. E. Swint was moved
from Wadley Hospital to
the Veterans Hospital at
Shreveport Thursday for
treatments.
Mrs. H. S. Granberry
was accompanied to see
her doctor at Shreveport
by Bob Granberry and
Mrs. Nell Eitel last Tues-
day.
Mrs. Paul McCoy, Mrs.
Inez Heath and Mrs. Her-
shel Sheffield of Linden
visited in the home of the
Rev. and Mrs. Leslie
Griffin at Tyler Thurs-
day.
The Rev. and Mrs.
Marshall McQueen and
girls of Orange visited his
parents, the Rev. and
Mrs. W. F. McQueen,
over the week end.
Mr. and Mrs. Rede rick
Rutland and Mrs. Jose-
phine Frederick ofLufkin
and Mrs. G. Harris of
Austin visited friends
here Wednesday. They
were on their way to visit
with the family of W. E.
Swint at Wadley Hospital.
Mr. Swint was not able to
see them.
We are very glad to
have Mrs. George Forbes
at home after several
days in Municipal Hos-
pital in Linden.
