A pre-nuptial miscellaneous
shower was given for Miss
Patsy Lentz, bride-elect of Ros-
coe Winter, Wednesday evening,
January 25 at 8 o'clock at the
hostesses' home, Mrs. Virgil
Carlson and daughter Jane of
1035 Lakewood Drive in Wichita
Falls.
Games were played during the
evening and wedding gifts were
presented to the guest of honor.
Punch and cake was served to
fifteen guests.
RECEIVES BACHELOR OF
SCIENCE DEGREE
Mrs. Birt Seal McKenzie fin-
ished the requirements for her
Bachelor of Science degree in
Home Economics on January 20
at Abilene Christian College.
Graduation exercises will be
held at the end of the spring
semester.
Mrs. McKenzie, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Hardy Seay was
a graduate of Nocona High
School, Class of '57.
Her husband, Jack McKenzie,
met her Saturday and they left
for their home in Madera, Calif.,
Sunday.
Hardy Lee Seay, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Hardy Seay received
his discharge from the Marine
Corp at Camp Pendleton. Calif.,
last weekend. Young Seay ar-
rived in Dallas Tuesday and
came home on Wednesday.
John Reeves was in Montague
Monday on business.
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Short, Sr.,
were Saturday dinner guests of
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Short, Jr.,
and family of Haskell.
Johnny Black of Wichita
Falls spent from Thursday until
Sunday with his grandparents,

3 medium potatoes
1 10-ouncc packagc frozen peas
>4 cup chopped onions
1 4-ounce can sliced mushrocnm
* 3 tablespoons butter

A 1-pound can salmon, di r.u.i i
V4 teaspoon salt
Dash pepper
Peel, boil and mash potatoes
Cook peas according to directions
Saute onions and mushrooms ii
butter for 5 minutes. Combine eel
cry soup, salmon, mushroom-onioi
mixture, salt, pepper und peas
Turn mixture into a greased 1
quart casserole. Spoon potatoes ii

bake in a preheated 350 F. ovei
for 25 minutes. Serves 4.

this week of the death of her
brother-in-law, Mr. Thurman
Nutting of Dallas on January 29.
The death of two early day
residents of Bonita occurred in
a Gainesville hospital this week,
Mrs. Zona Starr the former
Zona Howard and Mrs. Jess
Latham. Mrs. Starr died Jan. 25,
and Mrs. Latham died Jan. 26.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Henry and
son of Lubbock spent last week
here with Bill's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Jim Henry. Mr. Henry was
in Dallas part of the week for
an insurance convention.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Gregory
and son of Gainesville and Mr.
and Mrs. Leonard Owen, Linda
and Janine of Muenster were
luncheon guests of the F. E.
Gregory's Sunday. Linda at-
tended a skating party in the
afternoon on the occasion of
her birthday.

been ill with pneumonia at the

"JOLLY" BLUE BIRDS MEET
WITH MRS. R. D. REEVES
The Jolly Blue Birds met in
the home of Mrs. R. D. Reeves
on Wednesday. Feb. 1. After roll
call Joyce Sarver served cool-
aid and delicious snowman cake
to Sue Brewer, Jill Burchfiel,
Pat Hogan, Sandra Dennis, Pink-
ey Reeves. Susan Yetter, Mrs.
Reeves, Robin Reeves, and Mrs.
Clyd Yetter. Jr.
A history book of the Jolly
Blue Bird group was started.
The backs and fronts, which
were pre-cut, were sanded by
the girls. The beautiful sunshine
was enjoyed by the girls in
the back yard.
The next meeting will be
February 8th. On February 15th
we plan to go through the
newspaper office and printing
plant.

had fallen and hurt her fore-
head and face badly. She is 76
years of age and lives alone.
She is also the mother of Joe
Hunt.
A pink and blue shower was
given for Mrs. Oleta Freeman in
the home of Mrs. Wanda Mon-
roe.
Cecil Foster was in Beaumont
Monday and Tuesday.

Fire Girls met Wednesday, Feb.

went on a hike about town.

MEETS WEDNESDAY. JAN. 25
The Peabody Home Demon-
stration Club met Wednesday,
January 25 with Mrs. W. E.
Woods. Mrs. Leon Young called
the meeting to order and read
the quote for meeting as opening
exercise.
In the absence of the secretary,
Mrs. Woods acted as secretary.
Roll call was answered by seven
members.
Mrs. C. L. Young gave a re-
port of the January Council. Mrs.
C. A. Baker was named Civil
Defense worker for the Peabody
Club.
Each member present filled in
the names of leaders and com-
mittees in the year books. Mrs.
Wayne Thompson explained the
duties of club officers.
Refreshments were served to
Mmes. Wayne Thompson, C. L.
Young, C. A. Baker, L. W.
Young, J. P. Embry, Leon Young
and the hostess.
The next meeting will be
February 8 with Mrs. J. p.
