The Rev. Fincher and his
wife moved to the Methodist
Church parsonage here Tues-
day. He will serve Douglass-
ville and Union Chapel this
new conference year. We wel-
come them to our town.
Mrs. Maud Allen, Mrs. Fran-
ces Willis and Miss Ruth Mc-
Coy joined the Travel Club
of Naples Friday evening for
a 17-day trip to California,
Washington State, Canada and
other points.
Mr. and Mrs. Sikes of Dallas
were week end guests in their
new home here.
Mrs. Cleo McBride and her
little grandson returned to his
home in Dallas Friday. He has
been visiting his grandmother
for some time.
Mrs. Ben Heath returned
from Wadley Hospital Tues-
day. Visitors during the week
were Mrs. Edd Rabb, Mrs. Fan-
nie Hardy Fouche of Atlanta,
and Mrs. Errol Hatfield of
Texarkana. Sunday afternoon
visitors were Mrs. J. W. Glass
and daughter, Sallie Ann, Miss
Mabel Webster of Maud, and
Mrs. Bobby Janes of Ft.
Worth.
Mrs. Clarkson and her sis-
ter, Mrs. Martha Harris of Tex-
arkana, are visiting with Joe
Clarkson ^nd his wife in Mary-
land ana will visit in Washing-
ton, D C., New York and other
points before returning home.
Mrs. Ethel Jackson and her
niece, Mrs. Frances Kirkendoll
and daughter, Tami, of Shreve-
port, were Wednesday guests
in the home of Mrs. Metta
Swint and Mrs. Nell Eitel.
Charles Emmit Griffin was a
guest on Sunday for lunch.
This past week, the children
have been attending Vacation
Bible School at the Methodist
Church. The school closed on
100
Friday and the program was
given Sunday evening. A very
impressive program was en-
joyed by the group.
Miss Maggie Williams was
taken to Texarkana Sunday for
surgery on Monday. Our best
wishes to her for a speedy re-
covery.
Mrs. Lillie McCoy is ill in
the David Cranberry Memorial
Hospital at Naples. J. E. Swint
continues ill in Ellington Hos-
pital at AtlnrUa. Our best wish-
es to them for a quick recov-
ery.
Miss Judy Granberry, bride-
elect, was honored Saturday
evening at the Union Chapel
community house with a mis-
cellaneous shower. She re-
ceived many lovely gifts. De-
licious refreshments were en-
joyed by the group.

with a linen shower Thursday
evening at the home of Mrs.
Jim Musick. Everyone is in-
vited to attend.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Swint and
children of Dallas were week
end guests in the home of his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. James
Swint. Sunday afternoon vis-
itors were Mr and Mrs. John
D. Black. David and Karen,
Mrs. Clint Carlow and Mrs.
Marion Carlow and baby of
Maud, and Mrs. Viola Swint.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe D. Bickham
of Denison also were guests
in the Swint home.
Several friends and relatives
from here attended funeral
services for George Granberry
of Atlanta Wednesday evening.
We sympathize with this fam-
ily in the death of their loved
one.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Dawn
Forbes and family of Dallas,
and Mr. and Mrs George
Forbes Jr. and family of Jef-
ferson were Sunday guests in
the home of their father, Mr.
Forbes and Mrs. Forbes for
Father's Day.
Mrs. Neal Brabham of At-
lanta and Miss Susie Brabham
of Hughes Springs were Mon-
day guests in the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Austin Zimmerman.
On Monday afternoon, Mrs.
Allie Robertson, Mrs. Odie
Johnson, Mrs. Metta Swint and
Mrs. Nell Eitel visited in the
Zimmerman home.
The Rev. and Mrs. Vernon
Fincher were Sunday guests
for lunch in the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Zimmerman.

in the home of Mrs. O. L. Fish-
er. Lloyd Adams of Nacog-
doches was a guest of Miss

Funeral services
held Saturday
for Ramie Smith
Ramie Smith, 69 year old
former resident of Bryans Mill,
died in Methodist Hospital in
Dallas last Thursday.
He had made his home in
Dallas since 1943.
Funeral services were held
at 10 a.m. Saturday at the
Bryans Mill Baptist Church
with the Rev. A. L. Pierce and
the Rev. Roy Alexander offici-
ating. Burial was in the Bryans
Mill cemetery under the direc-
tion of the Hanner Funeral
Service.
He is survived by two sons.
Billy Smith of Pittsburg and
Bobby Joe Smith of Dallas, two
daughters, Mrs. Melba Jean
Sellers of Garland and Mrs.
Hallie Morehead of Dallas, one
brother, Ornge Smith of Ven-
tura. Calif., one sister. Mrs.
J6ff Prewitt of Bryans Mill and
five grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jackie Car-
ver, Dude Henson, Cluren Hen-
son, J. W. Henson, Kenneth
Stringer and Dale Miller.

Miss Alcie Jane Carver, 70-
year old resident of Arden,
Ark., died Monday at a hos-
pital in Ashdown.
She was an aunt of Howard
Carver of Naples.
Funeral services were held
at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the
First Baptist Church at Fore-
man, Ark., and burial was in
the Dollarhide Cemetery.

Lone Star Steel's annual baseball clinic for ibout 400 boys
has ended for the year. All-Star games climaxed the eighth
annual clinic sponsored by the company as a public service.
