The School Situation
Editor Daily Bulletin:
In vour paper of Sunday the 17th
there "was an article relative to the
proposed bond issue for the purpose
-of. erecting a new high school build-
ing. 1 presume this was merely a news
item; however it is nseiy mat
set for the ideas entertained by those
-promoting the scheme.
It would seem from the contents of
this article that a proposition is un-
ler headway to build a $75000.00
fcailding near the present high school
sad at the same time spend the enor-
mous sum of $850.00 on the third
ward school.
VhiIe it is true that this is about
the usual proportion the South side
of town generally gets in the distri-
bution of funds I am lead to believe
lhey will not be satisfied in this in-
stance. As a matter of fact the hope of
Telief as to caring for school chil-
dren on the South side of the San-
t Vp and the hone of securing a
sewage system on that side was the
cause of those living in that section
voting in favor of the recently adopted
charter and nothing short of a
square deal is going to satisfy. And in
the event they do not have due con-
sideration in the matter of school
"buildings the proposed bond issue is
j;oing to be voted down.
If you will permit further space. I
will "state what I think ought to be
done and give some reasons for same:
Brownwoou
At least $Gt)U0.o00 annually will

of thq United States in the cost of

pouches and other appliances accord-
ing to.a rejiort received by Postmaster
V. p; McChristy today.
The cost or transportatipn the re-
port says at present' is $55000000 an-
nually. A large percentage of this
formerly paid for the .transportation
of needlessly heavy bags pouches and

People of ordinary means cannot af-
