friends to "make hay while the sun

as considerable work has already
been expended by the several candi-

especially is this true of the eighteen
leading candidates who are separated
by a narrow margin of votes In the

surprising changes would be noted
did each of these vote all his streng
th at this juncture Doubtless many
of the candidates are holding back
large numbers of votes to be brought
forth at the proper time; and when
this reserve is 'counted there will
certainly bo some startling changes.
This being the case no candidate is
now far enough in the lead to "rest
upon his oars" and count victory
won. The primary o'bject of this con-
test was to extend the circulation of
the Banner-: Bulletin and while a
very satisfactory increase has been
made it Is still a subject for regret
that many homes in Brown county
are not yet enlivened and enlighten-
ed by weekly visits of Brown coun-
ty's leading paper. This is a condi
tion that is easily remedied; and if
each contestant will importune his
friends to subscribe for the Banner-
Bulletin pay $1.00 and secure 100
votes the ambition of the Bulletin
wllL be realized and the sum total of
each "hustlers" vote will be greatly
augmented. Second only in impor

If the friends of oach candidate had
always remembered to dall for tin

it is safe to say that the present vote
ot each contestant would be more
than doubled. Now is the time to
"gather up the loose ends;" every
vote is of value and the contestant
who realize this and taKe action ac-
cordingly are tho ones who will win
and wear the prizes. Write personal
letters to your friends talk to them
about it and use all fair means pos-

prizes will be awarded as soon there-

THE AUXILIARY CONTEST.
Only three weeks remain. In which
votes may be secured In the auxiliary
contest and while some ot the can-
didates are already far beyond the
"danger line" as regards securing a
prize others we regret to say have
still to secure a good many votes In
order to gain a prize. There are tfve
valuable prizes to be awarded and as
there are only five candidates lnthe
field each is certain to secure a
prize if the minimum number of
votes are secured. As has been fre
quently stated In these column no
prize will be awarded any candidate
having less than 25.000 votes to her
credit at the close of the contest.
This rule was adopted to prevent the
possibility of any candidate securing
a prize merely by the announcement
of her name and without effort or
adequate return on her part. Several
of tho prizes were generously donated
by the business men for the purpose
of stimulating the contest and It
would be unfair to them to award the
prizes to "non-combantants." Any of
tho candidates can easily secure the
requisite number of rotes to win a
prize and tho Bulletin hopes it will be
called upon to award each of the five
prizes offered. Get busy.
