The Johnson County Genealogical Society originated from the
efforts of the founders to collect as well as preserve geneal-
ogical and historical information about the people of Johnson
County. Its purpose is to inform as well as aid members in
genealogical research and to publish records of interest to
those seeking their genealogical background.
Contributions (Bible records, ancestor charts and etc.) to
Finders Keepers are welcomed and used at the discretion of the
staff, who may be required to edit in order to comply with format.
Deadlines for material submitted are the 10th of January, April,
July and October. Late material will be held for next quarterly.
Send to editor: Dutch Blount
P.O. Box 237
Godley, Texas 76044
The editor nor the Society shall be held responsible for the
accuracy or copyright infringement of material submitted to us,
this shall be the total responsibility of the contributor.
Correspondence concerning any article should be addressed to the
author or contributor. Needed corrections will be made after
the editor has been notified.
Membership in the Johnson County Genealogical Society (including
a subscription to Finders Keepers) is open to all upon payment of
annual dues: $10.00 for single membership of $15.00 a family mem-
bership (two in the same household)-- however, only one copy of
the quarterly will be mailed for each single or family membership.
Dues for ensuing year are payable annually in January. A year's
membership includes four issues of the FINDERS KEEPERS - Feb.,
May, Aug. and Nov. regardless of date joined,(subscription to
Finders Keepers is the same as membership dues). The February
quarterly will not be mailed to last year's members whose dues
have not reached the Treasurer by February 15th. It was necessary
to make this policy due to the cost of making new lables and
mailing separately when the regular mailing has already been com-
pleted. Back issues of Finders Keepers are available at $3.50
per issue plus $1.00 postage and handling fee. Send dues to:
