Paul Hempfling, Sr.
and his full address should be
noted elsewhere in the HCN.
With his dues and booster Jim
adds that he and wife Harriette
stopped to see Joe and his wife
on the way home from Louis-
ville last summer. We found
them both looking good and in
good health. He closes with the
wish that all have the best for
the holidays and the coming
new year.
Frank Campo (Div Hq) with
his dues adds a booster and
simply says that he and his
wife Margaret wish everyone
happy holidays.
Lawrence Meyer (Div Hq)
adds a nice booster to his dues
and writes . . . Still retired and
still busy. Stop and see us when
the cold gets too much.
Margaret Kettler, widow of
Floyd Kettler (Div Tns) sends
dues and states that she enjoy-
ed the Louisville reunion and
got reaquainted with some of
my late husband's buddies.
Such a nice group of people.
Carl Tielsch (Div Hq) also
adds a nice booster with his
dues and pens . . . Thanks for
the time all of you put in the
12th. Sorry I can't attend some
of the reunions. Business good
and all our health. Finally
made grandfather due to #2 son
in Baltimore. #1 son in Spring-
field, a lawyer. Our Baltimore
kid and his wife are both
PHD's. Plan to see a couple of
Texans in Dallas come Febru-
ary. Does anyone know the
abode of one "Chappie" Lewis
who hailed from Turtle Creek,
PA? Enjoy the news and con-
tinue the good work.
Ralph Brandeberry (Div Hq)
sends along a note advising us
that his '88 dues are the way to
Illinois. He writes . . . Would
like you to know I appreciate
your column. As a former bands-
man starting with the 44th
then to division band, I would
like to see some action from
this part of our section. I like
yourself find conflict of time to
attend but do want to keep in
touch. Happy to see Capt.
McCarthy active. He once did
me a personal favor. I never
forgot. I'll see what I can do to
find some of my band pictures
and people, too. Someone said
enjoy retirement. I wonder
when I found time to work.
Have a Blessed '88. Thanks for
listening.

Gerald Hammell (Div Hq/
CCB) sends dues and writes ...
Just returned from nice vaca-
tion in Arizona and Nevada.
Spent Thanksgiving with our
son in Arizona and our Texas
family joined us. We are back
on Long Island to get our boat
out of the water and serviced
and to pay some bills so we
still have a roof over our heads.
Spent February and March in
Texas and Arizona. Sure do
love the hot sun and swimming
everyday in the southwest. Also
love our summers on Long
Island and because our only
grandchild is here. We are off
to our daughter in Texas for
Christmas. We are grateful for
our good health (except Hell-
kitten Audrey fractured her rib
in July). Our best wishes to all
for 1988.

This will serve as the official notification to those of you who
have not paid your dues for the year 1988, which were due and
payable on or before January 1st, 1988.
Please refer to your membership card. If it shows the year 1987,
and you have not paid your dues in the last month, you are
delinquent. So, please respond immediately, and provide the fin-
ancial support that is needed for the continuity of your association.
On the other hand, if you are in such financial circumstances
that you require assistance, please notify your Secretary, or your
Unit Representative, so that a confidential notation can be placed
on your record, and we will continue your membership.
The membership report in this issue shows approximately 70%
of our members have already paid their 1988 dues on or before the
January 1st deadline. We extend thanks to these members for
their prompt responses to our dues requests, and also for their
generosity in providing booster contributions to help a buddy.
We sincerely hope that those who have not paid their dues to
date, will take care of this matter in the very near future. Your
association needs your continued support.
