HELLCAT NEWS
February 1988

Armored
Infantry
Battalion
from a 14 day cruise through
the Panama Canal and several
islands. We disembarked at San
Juan, P. R. and flew home from
there. We waited until this time
of the year but it was still hot
and humid. We're looking for
another part of the world. I
spent my 81st birthday aboard
ship. All our new friends didn't
think that I was that old. By
the way we settled for 80V2.
Hope to make KC this year.
Wilbur Claus (Div Hq/CCA)
adds a booster to his dues and
sends best wishes to all.
Marion Mueller, wife of
George Mueller (Div Hq) sur-
prises him with the most uni-
que Christmas present. Unbe-
known to George, Marion sec-
retly sent in $100.00 and enlist-
ed him in the ranks of the
lifetimers. George becomes No.
403 on this list of VIP's. Here
is how Marion tells it... Merry
Christmas to all Hellcats and
Hellkittens. Enclosed is my
check for a lifetime membership
for my husband, George P.
Mueller, of Division Group - as
a Christmas present for him (a
surprise). We are busily prepar-
ing to leave on a trip to spend
the holidays and to celebrate
our 45th wedding anniversary
on December 28th. Also includ-
ed is a check for the 1988 boos
ter fund. Hopefully, we can
attend the annual convention
this coming year and renew
aquaintances. God bless all.
Ray Sacharski (Divarty)
sends his dues, adds a nice
booster and informs us that
Harry Deck who also served
with Division Artillery passed
away last May.
Also through Paul Hemp-
fling, Sr. and Horace Humph-
ries (Div Tns) we are notified
of the passing on of another
member of the 12th. He is Col.
John Dixon who served with
Division Trains and the 17th
AIB. John was not a member
of the association.
Theodore Mysliwiec (Div Tns)
sends dues and also adds a nice
booster and conveys sad news
informing us of the passing on
of his wife, Leona. He writes . .
. My wife passed away on July
9, 1987. She had a heart attack.
She was in the hospital for two
weeks and I thought she was
going to make it. It's breaking
my heart. She belonged to St.
Anne Sodality in Our Lady of
Grace Church. She was an

Now that you are all present
and accounted for after the
holidays and enough football
army wife. She spent time with
me in Fort Knox, Camp Camp-
bell and Camp Barkeley. She
was 65 years young. To the
families of these three deceas-
ed, we offer our deepest sym-
pathy.
FURTHERMORE: 'nuff said
except . . . "IT'S GREAT TO
BE A HELLCAT"!!!
to put five yard stripes on your
eyeballs we will proceed.
Not all the buddies are
accounted for on the rolls. Some
have gone A.W.O.L. so far as
Norb Bruemmer is concerned
and would like for you to take
care of those dues pronto. We
have picked up some more
"Lifers" and that will help
everyone concerned.
Norb also wanted you all to
know that the window decals
are still available from
him for 25$ each. This notice
was prompted by a request for
Arthur Ernst, C. Art is trying
to make us feel envious when
he tells us about his winter
adventures in Arizona. He and
Agnes spend a lot of time "pok-
ing around" ghost towns and
when they tire of hearing
strange sounds from the past
they head for the open spaces
and hunt rocks. He didn't say
what they do with them after
they find them, but I hope they
polish those stones instead of
throwing them at each other.
Special note to Clayton Camp-
bell, A. Hey man, we don't want
you to be in those hospitals
anymore. Clayton has had
some problems and reentered
on December 9. We're thinking
of you buddy.
This past year Harry and
Doris Nelson celebrated their
40th anniversary, and for that
momentous occasion their
daughter threw a big party for
them. There is a picture of
Harry and Doris and their
daughter Carol and son Duane
in this H.C.N, issue. They have
had an interesting time with
their four grandchildren. Har-
ry's heart condition has been
good, but Doris (as Harry states
it) has been doing a lot of doc-
toring. Hope things are looking
up for you Doris.
Have you all done your good
deed for this year? No? Well
let's get on it and honor Jim
Braun's request for some letters
from you guys in service. Jim
has been partially disabled and
Bernice and Raymond Hammond, Hq/llth, enjoying the
hospitality (?) at the Northwest Chapter reunion. They
plan on being present for the next one at Beaverton, OR,
next year. Photo by Allen M. Day, B/l 7th.
