COUNTY OF SHACKELFORD
To the qualified, resident, property
taxpaying electors of Shackel-
ford County, Texas, who own
taxable property in said County
and who have duly rendered the
same for taxation:
TAKE NOTICE that an election
■will be held in Shackelford County,
' Texas, on the questions and at the
time and at the places within said
County designated and set forth in
an order passed by the Commis-
sioners' Court of Shackelford
County, Texas, which order is as
follows, to-wit:
"AN ORDER
CALLING AN ELECTION ON
THE PROPOSITION OF THE
ISSUANCE OF $150,000.00 OF
ROAD BONDS AND THE
LEVY OF A TAX IN PAY-
MENT THEREOF, AND ON
THE PROPOSITION OF THE
REVOCATION AND CANCEL-
LATION OF BONDS AUTHOR-
IZED JANUARY 11, 1947.
WHEREAS, there has been pre-
sented for the consideration of the
Court a petition signed by Morris

ing that an election be held in said
County on the proposition of the
issuance of Road Bonds of said
County in the amount of $150,-
000.00, and the levy of a tax in
payment thereof, and on the prop-
osition of the revocation and can-
cellation of bonds authorized Jan-
uary 11, 1947, in the amount of
$150,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the proceeds of
such bonds, if authorized, will be
expended in the construction,
maintenance and operation of
macadamized, graveled or paved
roads and turnpikes or in aid
thereof, throughout Shackelford
County, Texas; and
WHEREAS, it appearing to the
Court that said petition is signed
by more than fifty of the resident,
qualified property taxpgying elec-
tors of Shackelford County owning
taxable property in said County
and who have duly rendered the
same for taxation; and
WHEREAS, it further appear-
ing th&t the amount of bonds to be
issued will not exceed one-fourth
of the assessed valuation of the
real property of said Shackelford
County;
IT IS THEREFORE ORDER-
ED, ADJUDGED AND DECREED
BY THE COMMISSIONERS'
COURT OF SHACKELFORD
COUNTY, TEXAS:
1. That an election be held in

said County on the 26 day of April,
1947, which is not less than thirty
(30) days from the date of this
order, on the following proposi-
tion:
PROPOSITION NO. 1
"Shall the Commissioners'
Court of Shackelford County,
Texas, be authorized to issue
bonds of said County in an
amount of $150,000.00, bearing
interest at a rate not to exceed
Two and one-half i 2 Va '7c) per
cent per annum, payable semi-
annually, and maturing at such
time as may b£ fixed by the
Commissioners' Court,' serially
or other-wise, in not to exceed
Twenty (20) years from the
date thereof, for the purpose of
the construction, maintenance
and operation of macadamized,
graveled or paved roads and
turnpikes or in aid thereof
throughout Shackelford County,
Texas; and whether or not taxed
shall be levied annually on all
taxable property in said County
sufficient to pay the annual in-

terest on said bonds and provide
a sinking fund sufficient to pay
the bonds at their maturity."
PROPOSITION NO. 2
"Shall the bonds in the amount
of $150,000.00 heretofore author-
ized at an election held on the
11th day of January, 1947, be re-
voked and cancelled."
2. That the proceeds of suen
bonds, if authorized, shall be ex-
pended in the construction, main-
tenance and operation of maca-
damized, graveled or paved roads
and turnpikes or in aid thereof
throughout Shackelford County,
Texas.
3. That said election snail be
held under the provisions of Chap-
ter 3, Title 22, Revised Statutes of
1925, as amended by Chapter 16.
Acts of the Fii'st Called Session of
the 39th Legislature, and the
bonds, if voted, shall be issued
under said law.
4. All persons who are legally
qualified electors of this State and
of this County, and who are resi-
dent, qualified, property taxpaying
electors of this County, owning
taxable property in said County
and vjio have duly rendered the
same for taxation, shall be entitled
to vote at said election and al!
electors shall vote in the election
precinct of their residence.
5. The ballots of said election
shall have written or printed
thereon the following:
PROPOSITION NO. 1
"FOR THE ISSUANCE OF
BONDS IN THE AMOUNT OF
$150,000.00 AND THE LEVY-
ING OF AN AD VALOREM
TAX IN PAYMENT THERE-
OF."
. "AGAINST THE ISSUANCE
OF BONDS IN THE AMOUNT
OF $150,000.00 AND THE
LEVYING OF AN AD VALOR-
EM TAX IN PAYMENT
THEREOF."

"FOR REVOCATION AND

BONDS IN THE AMOUNT OF
$150,000.00 AUTHORIZED
JANUARY 11, 1947."

Concerning each of said propo-
sitions, each voter shsll draw a
line through one of the above ex-
pressions thus leaving the other as
indicating his vote.
6. The said election shall be
held at the several polling places
in Shackelford County, Texas, and
the following named persons are
T. P. Fineher, Clerk, Mrs. Frank
Dillingham, Clerk.
In Precinct No. 3, Moran, Texas,
at Justice of Peace office, with the
following election officers:
Cole Jackson, Presiding Judge,
Jim Parrish, Judge, Mrs. R. W.
Brooks, Clerk, Mrs. Lloyd Morris,
hereby appointed as officers of
said election at the several voting
precincts as follows:
In Precinct No. 1, Albany, Tex-
as, at the Courthouse, with the
following election officers:
R. E. Nail, Jr., Presiding Judge,
Mrs. W. L. Hatcher, Judge, Mrs.
D. O. Anderson, Clerk, Mrs. A. G.
Dement, Clerk.
In Precinct No. 2, Fort Griffin,
at Fort Griffin school house with
the following election officers:
John H. Diller, Presiding Judge,
Mrs. Lottie Newcomb, Judge, Mrs.
Clerk.
In Precinct No. 4, Post Oak, at
Post Oak school house, with the
following election officers:
Arthur Lieb, Presiding Judge,
K. L. Fenner, Judge, Mrs. Arthur
Lieb, Clerk, Mrs. Hazel Overton,
Clerk.
In Precinct No. 5, Rockhill, at
Rockhill school house, with the
following election officers:
E. B. Gooch, Presiding Judge,
Elmer D. Gooch, Judge, Alton
Whitaker, Clerk, Lawrence Kelly,
Clerk.
In Precinct No. 6, Berryhill, at
Berryhill school house, with the
following election officers:
E. P. Armstrong, Presiding
Judge, D. A. Ivy, Judge, Leo Mc-
Keever, Clerk, C. L. Raughton,
Clerk.
In Precinct No. 7, Hastings, at
Hastings school house, with the
following election officers:
J. E. Powell, Presiding Judge,
E. L. Hughes, Judge, Mrs. J. E.
Powell, Clerk, Mrs. George Law-
rence, Clerk.
In Precinct No. 8, Sedwick, at
Hammons Store, with the. follow-
ing election officers:
W. L. English, Presiding Judge,
S. G. Ward, Judge, W. C. Owen's,
Clerk, Mrs. Urie Hammons, Clerk.
In Precinct No. 9, Ibex, at John
Alvey Store, with the following
election officers:
Dan R. Harris, Presiding Judge,
Mrs. Silas P. Boyett, Judge, Mrs.
Dan R. Harris, Clerk, Mrs. R. L.
Justice, Clerk.
In Precinct No. 10, Albany, at
the City Hall, with the following
election officers:
W. O. Whorton, Presiding Judge,
Mrs. Lorine Franks, Judge, Mrs.
Erline Black, Clerk, Mrs. Odessa
Lieb, Clerk.
7. The manner of holding said
election shall be governed by the
General Laws of the State of Tex-
as, regulating general elections,
when not in conflict with the pro-
visions of the Statutes hereinabove
referred to.
8. Notice of said election shall
be given by publication of a copy
of this order in the Shackelford
County Leader, a newspaper pub-
lished in said County, for three (3)
successive weeks before the date
fixed for holding said election, and.
the election shall be held not less
chan thirty days, from the date of
this order. In addition thereto,
there shall be posted other copies
of this order at four public places
in the County, one of which shall
be at the Courthouse door for
three ( 3) weeks prior to sard elec-
tion.
9. The County Judge is hereby
directed to cause said notices to be
published and posted and the
County Clerk is hereby directed to
publish and post the same as here-
inabove directed, and further or-
ders are reserved until the returns
of said election are made by the
duly authorized electron officers
and received by the Court.

the 25 day of March, 1947.
