best men should be - leeted as to the legisla-

The Election Korenber 4.
1 G'ss ril—'To the voters ot Precinct No. 1.
Owing to the engagements made with the
County Judge last, spring, to attend to the
business connected with the Public Schools
of Dallas County, I have been unable to
canvass and mix with the people of the
precinct as 1 desired and intended to
do, and those of my friends and fellow eiti
zens witn whom i have not met, I hope
will consider that the engagements con-
nected with the public schools would have
been neglected had 1 yielded to my own in-
clinations, mixed with, and seen each and
every one ot you in person—Let me say,
that I both lieed and want the ottiee as
much as any one of my opponents. A nd to
those Wt.li whom I am tin icijuainted I re-
spectfully ref t them to the various county
officers, the Attorneys of Dallas, and mv
old friends generally* as to my qualifications
to discti irsre all the duties incumbent up* u
a Justice of the Peace. And your votes
east lor me as one of the Justices ot
the Peace ot this precinct, at the
ensuing election will be highly appreciated
by your humble servant.
