We know a Texas diyine, who, in days
gone by, was a notorious desperado and
outlaw, and who is often amusingly absent-
minded, especially when anything occurs
to bring ud past recollections. A few
weeks ago thare was a bloody tragedy in
bis neighborhood, and on the Sunday fol-
lowing he star tad out to preach a sermon
on the great sin of taking human life.
After discerning for some time on tha
whys and wherefores of his subject, he in-
dicated a purpose to refer his hearers to a
certain passage of scripture specially bear-
ing upon his text. Said he. his face and

which he found convulsed with laughter,

nounced.
