:VOL. 6. NO 46. FERRIS, ELLIS COUNTY, TEXAS,
, . .ag m, ,JRDAY, JULY 29. 1899.
$1.00 PER ANNUM
THIS CO5T SALE.
It has started with a rush. Ellis county people have
become to know that we religiously keep faith with the
people. Performing what we promise, has built this busin=
ess from a very small start to its present proportions; but
we are not near grown. More people each season become
to knoW that in buying here there is absolute safety. They
tell others and timhus we grow. The consolidation of the
Hillsboro stock with our other stores gives us more mer=
chandise than we want, but this selling at cost is rapidly
doing the work. We never print that which we cannot
prove. If you have not become to know there's no "stre=
tching the blanket" here. Ask for the cost mark. It will
be cheerfully furnished you.MEN'S CLOTHING. The whole pack goes into this salethe
serges, the blacks, the grays and the colors-hundreds of
the best suits we ever placed on our counters. When you
priee them you will buy, if only for future use. The saving
is so apparent that the selling is far larger than our most sanguine
hopes looked for. Just what they cost us is what they
will cost you.
BOYS CLOTHING. Now's the time to dress up young America.
The makes are Mrs. Jane Hopkins'. The goods are
especially selected for strength and wear in long pants or
knee pants. Stock is in good shape and you are sure to find
what the boy wants. Two stocks into one makes us glad to
get what they cost. Will be glad to show.
SUMMFR CLOTHIING. Serge coats and coats and vests,
crash and linen suits. Cost selling is fast putting them into
service-not a one now but that you can own at just what we
paid for them. Plenty for all comers for awhile yet.
HATS in soft or stiff any kind, any brand, you can now find
them at what they cost us. This selling of hats at cost is out
of the usual. Already there are too many hats, but the Hillsboro
stock will make our stock a heap too big. That is why
you can own any of them now at cost.:STRAWV IATS A loss if we keep them, loss if we sell then,
: .but in selling we get the cash. That's the reason for the just
' half prices now.
SHIOS-good shoos-the best shoes. They are from the best
^ 'makers, there is the best material, there is any of the popu'i
lar toe shapes. There is all wantable widths, Not good only
. to look upon, but good to walk upon. The outers are solidcl
1' the in'ners soomth. The price on all low cuts or tans is what
It they cost us. The guarantee is, if for any reason the shoe is
not as it ought to be bring it back for your money,
.NEGLIGEE SHIRTS-95c each-If we asked you their averagec-.Lost
you would pay us f ally 10 per cent more. 'Twas
one of these purchases that only our buying pull makes possi-
ble. Wilson Bros. and Monarch makes at 35c each now.
We are firmly fixed as onz of Wxahachie's realities=
not here for a spell, but here to stay. here to build, to
. grow--=could not afford to deceive our puTblic. if for curi=
osity only drop in and price our goods.

HOW TO CURE BLOODY FLUX.

As a druggist I have handled various
remedies for bowel complaints
for the past five years, but have
never found anything so beneficial or

The woman who is lovely in face,
form and temper will always have
friends, but one who would be attractive
must keep her health. If
she is weak, sickly and all run down,
she will be nervous and irritable. If
she has constipation or kidney trouble,
her impure blood will cause
pimiples, blotches, skin eruptions

Some of the extraordinary utterances
of Governor Roosevelt,
in his ."strenuosity" speech at
Chicago seen to have been overlooked
by the newspapers. tie
said: "I have scant patience with
those who feared to undertake
the task of governing the Philippines
and still scanter patiencewith those who make a pretense
of humanitarianism and who cant
about liberty and the consent of
the governed." The Washington
Jeffersonian Democrat, remarks
that "The Administration newspapers
and those leading members
of the party who listened to these
utterances, endorsed them by applause;
so it can be fairly said
that, as far as the republican party
is concerned, the Declaration of
Independence is repudiated and
the new McKinley doctrine of Imperialism
enthroned in its place."
