Route of Katy Extension
The Georgetown correspondent
to the Express says: "Since the
recent visit to this place of Presi-
dent Rouse and other officials of
the Katy railroad, it is generally
understood that the line from
Georgetown to Austin will cross
Brushy creek between Round
Rock and Hutto, at or near a
point known as the old Wadkins-
crossing. From there it will go to
Pfleugerville on Wilbarger creek
in 'Travis county, where will be
made perhaps the first depot of
importance, after leaving here.
The prospects are that the line
will cross the Colorado river be-
low Austin and cross Onion creek
not far from Creekmore. The ulti-
mate intention of the company
seems 'to be to extend the. road
west into Mexico, and from Gran-
ger over the old Link Line route
to Trinity and from there finally
.connecting with New Orleans."
