The Student Government
will sponsor the first Model
U. N. April 18-19.
The event will feature the
r e p r e s e ntation of the 99
members of the United
Nations by Lamar Tech
students.
S c h e duled for McDonald
Gym, the Model U. N. will
d i s cuss foreign'interven-
tioninLaos, recognition of
Red C hina and the Congo
Crisis . During the final
session the floor will be
open to any resolution the
member nations submit to
the Secretary-General at
the assembly.
The sessions will be con-
ducted from 9 a .m. to 4 p .m.
for the two day event.
A meeting will be held to-
day at 3 p.m. in the Cardi-
nal Room for all delegates.
At this meeting all infor-
mation pertinent to the Con-
ference will be given dele-
gates. All delegates must
register in lOlSUBby
Monday at noon.

Dr. Charles W. Hagelman,
Jr., head of the Lamar Tech
Department of English, will
attend the 1 4th annual
meeting of the Southern
Humanities Conference at
Univers ity of Georgia in
Athens, Ga., Friday and
Saturday.
Dr. Haglemanwill discuss
with other Southern edu-
cators and businessmen the
following topic; "The Hu-
manities in the Business
Community." Discussion
leader will be John E. Til-
ford, Jr., of the Louisville
and Nashville Railroad Co.
in a series of polls conducted by L4M student
4 representatives in over 100 colleges throughout
the nation.
