the state convention. The
six Lamar Tech girls
attending the convention at
TCU on October 25-27 will
be, Bonnie Brewer will be
the clubs candidate for
a committee on member-
ship. Marlene Sadler, Bet-
ty Louise West,-Liz
Latimer, Barbara Newton,
Bonnie Brewer and Norma
Broussard. In addition to
electing state officers,
a c t i v i ties will include a
Western dinner and a tour
of Ft. Worth.
The Lamar club recently
served the annual buffet
dinner to the area Home
Economics Club.
Delta Zeta's are filling a
busy bell lately—enter-
taining the Cavaliers last
F r id ay, ushering for the
first Beaumont Symphony
concert and celebrating
their 54th anniversary
Wednesday. Sunday after-
noon the DZ's , the pledges,
and the alumns honored
their founders in a candle -
lighting cere mony at the
annutu formal Founder's
Day banquet given at Cal-
der Manor Wednesday
night.
Barbara Roberts spoke a*
toastmistress of the cere-
mony. Beverly Draper,
r e p r e s e nting the mem-
bers, and Carolyn Moak,
the pledges, presented the
major addresses of the
night,_

With the recent merger
of D e 11 a Zeta with Delta
Sigma Epsilon national
sorority, Delta Zeta is now
one of the three largest
members of National Pan-
hellenic. Due to some
overlapping of chapters, it
is estimated that Delta
Zeta will have 120 chap-
ters.

Alpha Delta Pi will give a
breakfast for the football
players and coaches.

charge of the arrange-
ments for the b r e a k f ast
which will be on Nov. 9 at
6:15 a.m.
The Alpha Chi Omega
football banquet will be on
Nov. 10at 6:30 pjn. in the
Snack Bar. This banquet is
for the football team,
coaches and their families.
The final day of Home-
coming will begin with a
parade in downtown Beau-
mont at 10:00 a.m. Al.
floats officially entered in
the parade will congregate
on the west side of Holley
Motor Company, Fred
Griswald i s parade mar-
shall.
The reviewing stand will
be in front of the city hall.
As the floats go by, they
will be judged byHomer
Jenkins,Frank Betts and L.
Pitts, prominate business-
men of Beaumont.
In the Big Float Division,
a first prize $40.00, a sec-
on d prize of $30.00 and a
third prize of $20.00 will
be awarded. The first
prize winner of the Small
(car) Float Division will
receive $15.00 and the
winner of the second prize
will receive $10.00. The
deadline for entering floats
is Nov. 5.
During half time of the
Homecoming game, Pres-
ident McDonald will in-
troduce die p r e s i dent of
the Alumni Association,
Dick G o e r 1 i ch, who will
crown the Homecom ing
jueen.
The Homecoming d a n ce
will be held in the gym
from 8 to midnight. The
Lamar Technicians will
supply the dance music.
During intermission, the
queen will be presented to
her subjects, and her
Ladies - in-waitingwi 11 be
presented to her .The foot-
ball captain will then pre-
sent the queen with a gift
selected by the Interclub
Council.
Monday, Nov. 12, will be
